It's been on the History Channel all week. We don't have HBO so this is my first time seeing it.

OMG, what this young men went through! :( It's excruciating to watch. Truly, war is hell!

I bought the entire DVD set for my DH for Christmas. I bawled like a baby during all of the episodes.:(

My son has been watching it--it's on too late for me LOL! He's said it's fantastic.

We watched the entire season on HBO and are now watching it again on History Channel. It is so amazing. It's really hard to fathom what it was like--and then when they show clips of the old men today talking about it--I cry all the time.

We watched the entire series via Netflix. Loved it so much we bought it. It is an amazing series. It should be required viewing in some history class.

I watched part of this last night for the first time. I don't ususally watch those kinds of shows, but my dh does. When we went to bed, he put the tv on the history channel and promptly fell asleep. I was so tired that I was too lazy to change the channel and ended up watching it for about an hour. Very unusual for me to watch something like that, but I did find it interesting. He couldn't believe it when I told him this morning. The set of dvd's sounds like a good idea for a b'day or Christmas present for dh. I'll have to keep that in mind.

My parents had the DVD set of this and I watched it over about 2 weeks or so. I had to watch it at night after DW was asleep because she's not good watching stuff like that.

I thought it was an excellent series!

We are.
We watched it on HBO last year both times it ran and we have the DVD set.
It is the best war series ever IMHO. My husband loves it. It really gave me more insight to WWII...which I didn't really know all that much about.

DH started to watch on History channel but got frustrated with all the editing and commercials, so he rented them all today and he and my dad are watching them even as I type =)

I also am getting tired of all the editing and commercials, I think I will buy it. Great series! Anyone know where you can get a good deal on this series?

Read the book in 2000. Watched the HBO showing in the fall of 2001 and now have the DVD set. The DVD set has a lot of extras including the "boot camp" the main actors had to go through before the filming began. Highly, highly recomend it.

The DVD's are pricey, but worth every penny. Its an exceptional series, but they must of edited alot out to be aable to show it on the History channel.

I saw it when it first came out and have it on DVD. Excellent series. In 1992, I was fortunate enough to meet some of the real members of E/506 when they were in New Orleans for a Living History event and USO show that was staged shortly after the book came out.
