Is anyone else upset about changing Spaceship Earth?

I'm looking forward to the changes but bummed that it will be closed when we are down there in October. I'm really hoping Jeremy Irons still narrates.

I hope they don't change the history scenes. I love those and since we don't have world of motion anymore I'll be very sad if they are gone. To me those type of scenes with the smells say Disneyworld to me. Some of the ending scenes can be changed they were the weakest part but leave the early scenes alone. Change is not always for the better.

I think updates are find. The main problem I have is the audio I find it hard to hear sometimes. maybe its just me
I also have a problem with the audio sometimes. My thought is that Jeremy Irons voice is very low (like bass low, not volume low) and the speakers don't do a very good job with that tone. Walter Cronkite's version was much easier for me to at coming across clearly.

I love spaceship earth, I am guessing it will be closed in Sept. when we are there. Yes it does need upgraded, but I would hate to see it become a rollercoaster someday.

When I heard that changes were coming to SE, I got very excited! I think that Walt was all about change, about moving forward (see Meet the Robinson's).

When I was 7 and went on the ride for the first time, I thought it was so cool--especially the ending. That's why I was so surprised when I went on it about 10-12 years later. I chuckled to myself because the "futuristic" stuff at the end had already been surpassed by current technology.

I think it's okay to be nostalgic, but at the same time remember that some things need to change with the times and be updated. EPCOT was supposed to be all about "tomorrow" in Walt's vision. It's starting to become about yesterday, and it's not frontierland. Therefore, I am inspired by these new changes, I am optimistic, and I am glad that Disney is choosing to move forward!

that won't be happening, the ride itself is staying the same, just the vehicles are being upgraded and the scenes are changing

I don't have a problem with them updating SE. I think it's great to see money spent on older attractions. SE has needed work for quite some time. I can't wait to hear the new audio in it.
