I have learned so much here over these passed few months. Now that it is crunch time I have finally started putting some information together to bring with me. There are just some things I don't want to forget or miss?

Am I the only crazy one?

I've been printing off posts since I stopped lurking and signed up for the DIS. I have to admit I actually have a small "File Folder of Fun" that has all of my tips and important documents in it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've been taking notes for the last six months. I feel that I am really well prepared. Look out Disney, here we come! :cool1:

When we went in June I had DH bind together 7 "books" at his office. One was for general and hotel information, and then one for each day at the park. I had put all of my information in a Word Document, mainly from cutting and pasting for both DIS and TGM and my final document was 394 pages! :earseek: So no, I do not think you are crazy at all, maybe I am!

I made a vacation document in Word and copy and paste anything that I don't want to forget from these boards. I also use my User Control Panel to record threads that are too long for me to copy.

I subscribed to TourGuideMike.com and got lots of info. I didn't know. I copy & pasted everything I thought would be helpful. I have a binder with over 20 double sided pages (color coordinated in sheet protectors with dividers...what can I say I'm an overplanning Virgo :rotfl2: )

At first my DH thought I was nuts, then he started looking at it and was quite pleased. It took me well over 2 days (couple hours each day and a great Target clearance on School items :rotfl: ) to compile it and I must say I love it!

I recommend Tourguidemike.com, it helped a lot. When my cousin sees it, she will definitely think I'm nuts..but hey, at least I know where I'm going. :rotfl2:

After looking at my 50+ some odd pages I would definitely say no your not the only 1...
I have:
* the complete penny list
* an itinerary for each park - basic not commando
* list of all ADR's - times, dates, etc. with a printout of menu from allears
* trip tik from AAA - 2 of them - 1 for 95 route - 1 for 84 alternate route - then I have a mapquest directions printout and a 3rd set - don't want to get lost and end up in Disneyland instead :rotfl:
* Another list of just tips and hints from the boards - how to get a reaction out of characters, little secrets, freebies in the parks, etc.

My husband doesn't know what I will do when we come home after all this planning, he is afraid of DD disorder - disney depression :rotfl2:

Here is my index..sadly, I have an index :rotfl2:

Also have pressed penny location list
Itinerary for every park and every day
Overview of intinerary daily
ADR list
Spectromagic Info.
List of where Disney Characters are in each park
List of Kidcot stations in every country
Waking Tink checklist
MNSSHP itinerary & info.
Plastic pocket which includes all park maps & tickets, etc.
Separate section for each park
Section for Water Parks (with Itineraries)
and an "Etc" file with Ghiradelli coupons
Map, directions and phone number to Super Wal-mart

As I type this I realize, I am truly an obsessive over planner :rotfl2:

I am right there with you guys with my Disney binder. I enjoy putting it together and we read it every night before bed on our last trip. It came in handy a number of times.

I am a TGMer too. So I have even more information to print out. Can't have too many points of view, now can you?

That is what my DH calls me!! I have lists for EVERYTHING!!! I have this huge binder that has a huge folder in it with all sorts of notes and information. All alphabetized starting with a printout of a calender for the next 11 months, then extramagic hours (subject to change),followed by heat percautions and remedies as we are going in August, itinerary, hidden gems around WDW, Magical trip reports from previous trips, MYWD, maps from the parks and resort, and finally resturants and a sub folder of menus!! That is just in the big file!! Then there is a manilla envelope with things to look for at the World such as , pressed penny list, Tree of Life carvings, and of course Hidden Mickeys!! All gotten from DIS Forums!! Guess I need a Disney Annon. group!! :rotfl:

Welcome to the Type A planners thread! I've been to WDW several times and each and every time I spend a LOT of time here on the DIS (and other discussion forums too...ssssh). I have several files. On the first trip I had a binder with random notes - big mistake. Now I bring one folder which is separated into categories. I also made a calendar of just the days of our trip. The date boxes are large with our daily itineray, PDRs w/ times and ressie #, notations to bring coupons, AAA/Disney Visa/Rainforest Club cards for discounts on the appropriate day. I use FunTak to stick the calendar to the wall in our room.

I actually printed out the entire post on Disney secrets!! It was like 20+ pages.. and that was awhile ago!!

Ive taken so many notes and printed out so much stuff in the past 10 trips, that I dont need much anymore!! LOL

I am a victim of overplanning myself oh and also a virgo!!!!

Yup, I have my "Disney Binder" full of useful information also in sheet protectors.

I am not the local Disney expert anyone has a question they come to me and not only do I have the answer I have three other possibilities or alternatives. Its really bad!!!

Question: How does one find out about these Disney Secrets if you just joined Dis. We leave in a week

Oh YES!

I have a folder exploding with stuff.

A calendar page for each day with parade times, EMH times and park hours for the park(s) we are planning on going to that day, and ADR's for the day.

One page of notes for each park with tips from the boards and the UG - which rides we want to go on first, where to best watch the parades from, how to get to the AAA lounge in MK, how to get to the Disney Visa Meet N Greet in EPCOT, etc.

Spreadsheet of meals categorized by day, whether they are TS or CS, how many dining plan credits they are worth.

List of average prices for each restuarant, to help us choose the (least expensive) places where we will plan to pay for the kids' meals with cash.

Printouts of all the restaurant menus, so we can choose what we want while we are waiting to be seated so we can order quickly and get back out into the parks faster.

Packing list - includes everything from gum for the flight to ponchos to undies.

List of stuff we will need to buy at Super Wal-Mart, plus directions on how to get there.

Directions on how to get from MCO to the resort.

Maps of Orlando, WDW and the resort. Maps of our departing airport and MCO, so we can find the terminals easier.

Activity pages/folders for the kids - including crayons.

Mousekeeping tips in envelopes decorated by the kids.

Did I forget anything? :rolleyes1

but now I see that I'm just a novice. I have been further behind in my planning/packing for this trip than any of our previous 6 visits. I have the WDW reservation confirmation envelope stuffed with paperwork. I have the hotel, car, and plane itineraries for everyone, an excel printout of suggested parks for each dat, along with PS numbers & dates, suggestions, do not forget notes, coupons for Ghirardellis, meal vouchers, to do lists, tickets, RFC gift cards, free pin coupons from Kellogs cereal boxes, Restaraunt.com cert, and info on Whistle Junction. I still have to make some photocopies of ins info, packing lists, print coupons, list of FW movies, pack, and we are leaving 10/7 (so I still have a small cushion). I just want to get everything organized, so I don't overpack, and I am able to find all paperwork needed as quickly as possible.
