Is anyone else struggling to get December ressies?

Is anyone else struggling to get December ressies? I have tried DVC availability 7th through 10th December and also CRO, and not a thing is available. Is something special going on that weekend in WDW?

I have booked the rest of the trip - brought forward at the last minute and the flights but no rooms for these nights!

I believe there is a football/cheerleading event called Pop Warner that is happening at that time.

I started in mid August checking and could have gotten anything. The next week everything was gone. We have reservations staying at the Yacht Club Concierge but what I really want is the Grand Floridian - anything! I am afraid it is going to be way too crowded at this time.

We tried to get reservations for Dec. 9 and 10 and had a little difficulty. I think the problem is this is a busy time for DVC, so a lot of members book the regular resorts for Friday and Saturday nights to save DVC points. Also, there is Mousefest around that time (which would be a lot of onsite guests) plus the end of Pop Warner football. Also, the weekend would probably have a lot of locals coming for the X-mas stuff. Maybe you could try your dates without the weekend dates. You might be able to find at least a few nights availability.

I personally am not too worried about the crowds. The Disney resorts might be full, but I doubt the offsite resorts are even close to being full. Only a very small % of WDW guests stay onsite, so I don't think it will affect crowds terribly.

I am booked from Dec 2-9 and I have been trying for the past couple of months to change my resorts arounds with no luck!

I originally was booked Dec 3-9 and wanted to add the 2nd...this was back in May....I am stuck with the following

Dec 2 WL courtyard
Dec 3-6 WL woodsview
Dec 6-9 BWI

I have been calling forever to change Dec 2 to woodsview or Dec 3-6 to courtyard...no such luck

I asked our agent for the period we are traveling during early December...she wasn't exactly sure but definitely something is booking out the monorail resorts for this time period. She thought there may be a convention at the CR and they were still holding on to rooms for the population slated to attend the conference. Plus, the CR rehab work switching trips over to the PR and GF.

If this is true, there will be a day in the future when these rooms will be released. I would tend to perceive a convention is holding rooms rather than everyone switched to visiting in early December.
