no I'm not pregnant LOL.

but I AM nesting!!

I have de-Christmassed the house already ( our tree was dead so we had to take it out early and it just kind of went from there)
and I'm on my annual " I cant stand the mess in this house" jag LOL

I want to do so many thing in here and James' honey-do list is getting pretty long.

So I am really in the mood to get back into organizing and get some stuff done!

Anyone else nesting?

i hope to throw out 99% of the accumulated junk in my house and garage over the next month. even if we did'nt hope to move this year (and not want to schlep all the junk with us)-i am just sick to death of it!!!!!!

i managed to do this once before-it was great for about 2 months, then my mom moved from a house to an apartment and all of her junk ended up here :earseek:

I am and I'm not pregnant either! Our house is also de-Christmassed on the inside. But we do still have snowmen decorations out. Our tree was also getting crispy so now it is gone. I went out and bought a small evergreen tree and planted it in a pot on my deck along with some pansies. I planted pansies in some other pots. too. and made a winter wreath using a plain grapevine wreath with some red and white metal snowmen that I attached to it with red ribbon. My deck is now fresh looking and I can enjoy it over the winter. DH vacuumed the yard so that it looks fresh - no dead leaves blowing around. We still have the big colored lights all around our eaves and they will probably stay up until after new years.
I have been "empty-nesting" since DS moved out. DH and I are enjoying our little nest together.

Not pregnant either, but I'm nesting. I sent Dh out to buy containers this morning. I want this tree out of here!!! I want the outside decorations put up asap. Plus I wrote a list last night for what I want to buy and in the house, it might make him :faint:

I think its partly due to the fact that we spend so much more time in the house during the winter than any other time.

If I remember correctly, http://www.flylady.net spends the month of January on household decluttering. I've had a great laugh reading the stories of some of the stuff that people are getting rid of -- hard to believe that someone actually thought to keep some of the items to begin with (like the folks who find dead animals in their freezers -- bad enough that you put a dead animal in the freezer to begin with, but how do you forget it's in there?).

As usual, most of the closets in my house could use a good thrashing through. Maybe that will be my goal for January -- one closet each week should get rid of a lot of junk.

Oh my yes!!!!! I really de-cluttered today. I have the tree and outside lights still up. And yes, it really does look nice! But I cleaned like I was ready to give birth (no-NOT pregnant!). I just needed a day to go through some things, toss some things, etc....

Now I am ready to sit back and relax for the rest of the Christmas break. :goodvibes

I cleaned the garage today - it was full of empty boxes that our online orders came in - and out-of-town relatives sent presents in - plus add all the packaging from the toys - what a mess! I broke down all the boxes I could, filled two garbage bags with peanuts and other packing materials, and two boxes with stuff that couldn't be broken down. After re-organizing and sweeping, the garage is now the cleanest part of the house! So I spent an hour out there just sitting and enjoying it!

So, who's going to clean the rest of the house for me?

well good to know Im not alone LOL.

Im sick today but I will get back into my organizing thing as soon as I feel better. Today I just want to curl up in fornt of the fireplace and sleep :(

I think I will curl up and read some of my organization books and see if I can come up with a plan.

As for house cleaning, sorry youre on youer own there LOL

Kay, since nobody else offered ;) I cleaned the kids' closets. I can't do the rest of the house until this weekend when we put the tree away. Meanwhile, DH caught the bug and we may finally be able to get the furniture for the study to help organize our mess. :)

So, until this weekend - I guess I'll just Dis!

binny - hope you are feeling better.

I'm as well. :teeth: I thought it had to do with the fact that I haven't been able to do much lately. I broke my right little toe almost 2 weeks ago (bad injury), and just today I'm able to walk almost normally and without pain. Then, I fell while I trying to protect my foot and hurt my posterior really bad, it still hurts and it's turning colors. :earseek: So, today I felt like I could clean the house and that's what I'm doing. I'm taking a break now. :sunny:

I am recovering from travel today and then I am going on a cleaning binge. We are having company come in from out of town to stay with us for New Years.

Oh, to do it at your leisure....have fun Binny!

HAHAHA....I just noticed my new tag...I guess it will be a good reminder for me. Thanks tag fairy!

Well, I am the exception to the rule...I am pregnant with #3 and really driving myself crazy to find organization amongst chaos.

I do "flylady", but probably not to the full routine. Christmas stuff is coming down as we speak, my list of "to do's" is growing every night, and bags of trash are leaving the house each day. I am OVER clutter!! :wizard: It is starting to look like home now (and we have been in this house since February).

I go back to work next week..and will work for about 3 weeks until the little one arrives :cloud9: . Then once I am home with the baby, I intend to do alot more of this "decluttering and organizing". Once it is done...my whole family will be "flying high" with flylady!!

Flylady is just too intense for me LOL.

The trick is to (1) never subscribe to the emails and (2) pick and choose the parts of Flylady's program that work best for you.

For me, I do well with Zone cleaning, but make up my own Zones instead of Flylady's. Also, I like morning and nighttime routines. But instead of shining my sink, I find that making my bed makes me feel that all is well in the world.

No one ever wears shoes in my house. And I do not wake up before the kids unless the alarm goes off because we actually need to go somewhere -- maybe I'd get more done if I set the alarm every day?

I've been off all week and what have I been doing? Home cleaning. I just can't stop. My DH called me and asked what I was doing -- I said I'm cleaning. For some reason, when I'm off and we're not going anywhere, I just like to clean. I've always been like this and I have no idea why. I just can't be lazy for more than 20 minutes and sit and do nothing.

I've been doing this too. It feels good.
