We don't eat until around 7 this evening and we don't have company so I'm just killing time. Does anyone else here have to wait too?

Yes, but I'm not just killing time! I'm popping in for a quick break from doing the last minute cleaning. My parents, brother, and SIL are all coming in today but their flights don't come in for 2 and 3.5 more hours (yes they are coming in 1.5 hours apart ).

we're eating around 5 so I'm just killing time till I can get into final prep mode...turkey is in the oven cooking away...not much else to do right now.

We're eating at 5 at friends'. I've been baking and puttering today. I got all my cookies baked for our family cookie swap, and have banana bread in the oven for Christmas presents.

Late or never. I feel lousy so didn't cook; then I thought I'd go to the deli and get some sliced turkey and heat it; now I'm thinking 'skip the turkey' and just go with the stuffing and potatoes'.

we are also eating later than normal at 5:30. Having a break after roasted veggies are done, stuffing is done, turkey is in oven. Just letting the green beans thaw a bit before doing the green bean casserole.

We have no company coming either, but not eating until 4 or 5..The turkey is taking forever too cook. We took it out of freezer On Sunday, but think it was still a bit frozen. It is 21 pds,and after 5 1/2 hrs still wasnt totally done.
Its ok.. I am not hungry, been nibbling all day;). I am taking a walk to 7-11 now to get a big water bottle(We are all out). That was walk wont seem so much like exercise, but more of and means to an end;)

It's just the four of us today (and possibly DS's girlfriend, but not sure), so we decided to eat later in the afternoon.

I like it better that way! Not all the hustle and bustle in the morning and we can make all the food at our leisure. :thumbsup2

It's just three of us -- Me & DH, DD is coming over and we'll eat about 4:30. Turkey is spinning away in that Ron Popeil thingy (we call it "the set it and forget it") and I'm trying to work up the enthusiasm to finish the sides.

Just me & DW this year, I think we're eating around 5-5:30pm. Starting to get hungry already:)

we will go over to my friend's house in about an hour and a half and eat at 5:00-5:30 our time.....been cooking my contributions off and on today. Screwed up the deviled eggs (underboiled) so will do a quick new batch.

eating at 730 or so me and some coworkers are celebrating TG at another coworkers house

Is eating late a regional thing? I'm from the Deep South and I don't know of anybody who eats Thanksgiving dinner at 5pm or later. My mother always had the meal done around 3(if we were lucky!) Mine is always on the table between 1:30 & 2pm. I like to eat in the early afternoon so we can go back at 6pm and have Second Thanksgiving!

I don't know if it is regional or not. We ate around 3 and I have everything cleaned up already!!!

I grew up in the Chicago area, and we never ate until 4ish.Even when we eating at reletives house we always arrived around 4 and ate shortly after.

I was wondering the same thing, we have never eaten later than 2pm.

I have to work every other Thanksgiving-12 shift (7a-7p) so we tend to eat later when that happens. This year since we kinda got started later we will be eating a little after 7p.

We are eating late today. We hit the Parade this morning in NYC and didn't get home until 1 so that's when the turkey went in. So we are just waiting for it to finish cooking. Should be soon. It wasn't that big a bird- only 13 pounds. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
