politician's committees? I have had 2 calls this week from Gov. Roy Barnes' committee to ask me 1 question about schools. Then they ask me if he count on my vote in the upcoming election. I'd love to know how they got my name and number. I'm not listed, and I'm so NOT into politics. I vote, and that's about it. Just for calling me, I'm tempted NOT to vote for him.

I haven't been called about politics but I keep getting phone surveys. And MCI calls every hour. enough with the telemarketing!!!! who ever invented telemarketing should be shot!!!

especially when your not listed!!! I feel for you shannon, i wouldn't vote for him either. Call them up and tell them!!!

There's a guy that calls from MCI, I swear it sounds like the same one. He loves to try to sell me on MCI by telling me how much it would thrill my dh if I was to sign up with MCI. That my dh would be most appreciative. He goes a little too far with the "little woman" sell technique. I give him an earful and a half.;) I need to have a copy of the 19th amendment out the next time he calls.;) He's such an idiot. I loathe condescending people.

I think the next time Gov. Barnes' office calls me, I'm going to tell them I why I won't vote for him. Those phone calls!

Yes I did asking questions about the school......one was

Do you think your child should be able to be spanked or paddled in school if they deserve it?

To which I said "NO I DO NOT!" You have a problem with my child you call me I will handle it.

They didn't like that answer so that was the end of the phone call.

When they ask the question, say, "I don't understand. Can you explain it a bit better?" Just keep on repeating that until they get frustrated and they hang up! :)

I was asked the SAME question both times. The first call was a female, the 2nd call was a male. They give me 3 choices to choose from. I can't remember the other 2 choices but my answer both times was I think the schools need smaller student/teacher ratios. The other 2 choices were more political than about education. Then they ask "Can Gov Barnes depend on your vote in the upcoming election?" I give them a blow off answer of "we'll see". Next time, I'll say no in a very southern way.;)

LOL, Barry. That would drive me batty.:o

I think I will do it next time...

Telemarketer: "This is Sam from XYZ company. How are you today?"

Me: "I don't understand the question. Can you explain it a little better?"

:)

I keep getting recorded calls from Gov. Rick Perry...I keep hanging up. And I wish someone at First USA Priority Club could understand this "I DON'T WANT YOUR CREDIT CARD!!!!!!!!!!" They have called everyday for a week! MCI hasn't been quite as bothersome lately...I'm sure it's just a slow phase...the hard sell will start again soon :(

This time we always look forward to elections being over just to be rid of all the nonsense. This year we're really looking forward to it because we'll be at WDW!!!!

I am a real softy when it comes to those surveys - last night I got roped into one that Quote "would only last a minute" - try 30 minutes. Lots of questions about my feelings on and about different religions. I think I really frustrate them because if the question is to vague I refuse to answer or answer None Of the Choices. :D

i hate telemarketers, but as someone in research, i really feel bad for people who are trying to conduct reserach and get treated badly b/c of telemarketers. it's actually a big problem in my field. since the explosion of telemarketing, it's much harder to get a good response rate from phone surveys.

I'd love to know how they got my name and number. I'm not listed, and I'm so NOT into politics. I vote, and that's about it.
when you register to vote, you give your adress and phone number, etc. the voter registration lists are available to all candidates, so that even if you are unlisted, they have your number from voter registration.

I am not crazy about the pre-recorded message from politicians or their campaign people.

I do not like telemarketers either, however, I am not rude to them. I just say "Thanks but we are not interested".

Surveys are a different matter. DH and I both usually take the time depending on what it is.
