Middle to Late August always means two things to me..
1. Going back to school to teach my students
AND..
2. That the Holidays are right around the corner!

I can't tell you how excited I am for it to be Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas this year! Almost daily I'm thinking about when all the stores get their decorations out, the candy at Halloween, turkey stuffing, Christmas trees, etc. It's becoming a real problem!

Maybe I'm just crazy but it seems like the Holiday season can't come soon enough this year.

go to costco-they have christmas wrap out already:scared1:

My DH and DD love Halloween, and last year they bought a bunch of new things afterwards that was on sale. They always have a big plan on how to decorate and dress up each year, so I am looking forward to Halloween this year.

For Christmas I agreed to have people tour our house as a fundraiser at church, so I will need to get it ready even earlier this year because the tour is in early December. Another lady did it last year and I loved her house and of course we got to talking and she convinced me I could do it too. So, I am looking forward to that and also a little nervous for it, but I figure when it is over I will be set for Christmas and I can just sit back and enjoy December.

I'll be at WDW next month and I am already excited about buying new decorations for my Disney Christmas tree. I love Christmas!

I am excited for Christmas as well!!!! I love the holidays. Already have my christmas list together for everyone, and planning on possibly making a purchase today of the first christmas gift!!!

I'm not surprised.. if only I didn't have a closet full of wrapping paper already. DH would kill me. Maybe if I just go and look.....:rolleyes1:laughing:

Your DH and DD sound like me and my Daddy. We ALWAYS did that at Halloween. In September we'd start planning our yard out and get the decorations down to test the lights, retouch paint, etc.

And it's great your house will be ready for December! That sounds like a great fundraiser!

Ahh! I know! We're going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on Nov. 19th and DH has already told me I need to limit the number of ornaments I buy for the tree. :lmao:

Exciting! :cheer2: I start buying my gifts in Novemeber-- I'm a big Black Friday kinda gal- definitely gets me even more excited for Christmas!

So excited!!! I love, love, love Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course Christmas!
And as a bonus this year...I won't be hot and pregnant by Halloween! I'll be sleep deprived and holding the newest little pumpkin in our patch!
Oh and I'm going to Costco tomorrow, and if there's Christmas wrap I'm buying it!

Aww!! Are you dressing your baby up for Halloween? My first Halloween I was 8 months old and a clown. Looking back, I really hate my costume but the pictures are pretty darn cute. Congrats on the new baby! :cloud9:

Yeah, I'll go along with crazy. :rotfl:

I think the holidays come too fast every year, especially Christmas. Maybe it's because WE host the family get-together on Christmas Day and I'm really, really wishing someone ELSE would take over that job.

We are spending Halloween AND Thanksgiving at WDW this year. :cool1:

These are 2 separate trips so we are not spending a month at WDW.

:lmao:Hey, now if I were in your shoes, I'd probably be on my knees praying that the days in August would slow down.

DH and I aren't in charge of anything this year. My heart goes out to you. :rolleyes1

I don't start thinking about Halloween until the leaves start to turn. I don't start thinking about Thanksgiving until after Halloween. I don't start thinking about Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

Is anyone else getting excited for the Holiday Season? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope.:headache:
It's August. It's summer.:sunny: I enjoy the summer and don't want to see it end. :beach:

That's not to say I don't enjoy the holidays..but all in due time. I don't like that the stores push the seasons, and I'm seeing Christmas cards and wrap in August. :headache:

I'm ready for it, too! Hobby Lobby has some good stuff out already, too. :thumbsup2

NOPE!

We haven't had summer, weather-wise around here. We'll get hot weather in September, we go to WDW in October - then the Holidays can arrive! It'll be a strange November and December for us - the firsts without Mom.

I'm with you. Summer is the only good season

I'm anxious for fall and Halloween - such a beautiful time of year up here..:thumbsup2

Thanksgiving is when I start thinking about Christmas..:goodvibes

I love the change in the weather too.

I relate to that wish!

I often wonder which adult, married "kid" is going to host a holiday at their house. We aren't going to live forever and I'd LOVE an occasional holiday where I didn't have to lift a finger!

Wait until you have children of your own. Holidays take on a life of their own, as far as thinking about and planning for them.

You become The Great Pumpkin, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, etc. ;)

I wasn't thinking about the holidays until I went into Rite Aid yesterday and saw bins of Halloween candy :scared1:. I'm not a huge Halloween fan, but I love, love, love Thanksgiving and Christmas. Starting in November, I start playing the holiday music, making gift/food lists, and praying for snow!
Of course, as soon as Christmas is over, I want the snow to go away and have 80 degree weather again! I hate the cold (and shoveling!!)
