Is anyone else finding the Disney Direct costumes run small?

I bought DD2 Sleeping Beauty and Belle in size small (6x), to use for next year. I was about to pack them away, when I decided to try Sleeping Beauty on her, just for kicks. Lucky I did! Now, she will be three next month, and she is tall for her age with a head that is larger than most (gotta buy hats in kid's size L already), but I am surprised to say that other than being somewhat longer than what is needed, this costume just about fits her! I am seriously reconsidering packing this away for next year's Disney trip. What stinks is that I already have a Cinderella costume for our CRT lunch, and a Minnie for CM dinner for this Oct. So, this may be used for MNSSHP. I don't want to mess it up by having it hemmed, though, as if she just grows taller, I could still use it next year. Any ideas? I already have a Tink I could use for MNSSHP, but don't want to reorder the Aurora, as I just ordered Cindy and Snow White in medium.

I definitely thought that Tinkerbell ran small. My DD is 40 pounds 40 inches, and the XS didn't fit. :(

we dont have a problem with dd's sizes. she still wears her XXS for dress up and I did order her S this time to make it on longer side. In all the pics they come just below their knees and I like them longer. dd is 5 1/2 at 42 inches tall and 40lbs..

I agree with you. I ordered my 5yrold DD the Ariel costume size M(7-8).She is quite tall. I noticed how small they ran when I was in the Disney Store this weekend. I think she will need the L so I'll have to return it.

I actually thought they were running bigger because DD-4 (37"-32 lbs) is finally in the XS for their clothes but on the costumes the XS is huge and she fits in the XXS. The XXS is still very roomy on DD-2 (35"-25 lbs), so they get to share lots of costumes this year:)

The Tinkerbell I bought is definately small. The Belle doesn't look much better but we haven't tried that one.

Now I'm nervous. I just ordered my DD's Belle and Cinderella. My DD7 is a little chubby and I ordered her the large thinking that since the M from last year still fits her, but it's just a little tight. My DD4 is thin at 43 in. and only 33 lbs so I got her the same size dress as she had 2 years ago, because that still fits her. Our Disney Store in the mall just closed for renovations and they aren't sure when they are gonna open back up. Hopefully it will be in time for Halloween so I can exchange them there if I must.

our DD will be 4 years old in November. She's 35 lbs and 41". I think the sizes are right on. She is still wearing the XS Cinderella dress that Santa brought last year. The dress goes to mid-calf. This year she asked for a Belle and Tinkerbell dress (I also got the Aurora dress).

I had thought about getting her a 'S' instead of the 'XS' but don't want it to be too long as I'm afraid she'll trip on it.

She's tall and thin so I figure she'll get at least the next year out of all of her dresses. IF she's still using them next year at this time I will have to bite the bullet and buy 5 new dresses next year.

I think the boy sizes run big. DS is 3 1/2, 40", 35 lbs, and the XS 4/5 are big. Of course XXS 2/3 is too small. I wish they would have whole sizes - 2,3,4,5.

Hmmm...I am going to have to put the dress she is wearing in her picture here on the bed & measure the costumes according to that to check them. I don't want her to see them now because she wont want to put them away again. :)
