Is anyone else electronic junkies?

Lately the more and more I fly, the more and more electronics seem to go on the plane with me.
I just brought a kindle book reader for my flight to France next month.

So far, I've got cell phones, Ipod, laptop, kindle and camera. Jeez.

My hubby is a product tester for one of the things you have listed there. You can't even imagine all the things he carries on in his Fül backpack!

DH also brings his GPS and scanner. Minus the laptop...but if he could fit it, he would take it!

I love the latest and greatest too! Don't have a Kindle yet, but it's definitely on my wish list. I usually take the cell (BlackBerry) and IPod Touch; unless I have to log in for work, I leave the laptop home. The GPS stays home too as we usually don't rent a car.

Yes. Both of us, and our hobby requires that we have lots of stuff with us when we travel. Its almost embarrassing going through security. Last time we both got pulled aside and both of our carry-ons taken apart because we had so much. Once they realized DH was military and that sort of explained some of the items, they seemed a little more ok. Like who else would carry a radio antennae & wireless router for rental car. On top of the 2 laptops & all stuff, 2 GPS, 2 cameras blackberry, ipod, PDA, chargers, batteries...... We always allow extra time.

My Blackberry (which is also my music player, game system, etc), digital camera bag (two camera's; one PS and one DSLR) and my tablet notebook, that's it in terms of electronics.

It's almost embarrassing. We will have at least 2 DS's, a psp, a netbook, cameras, GPS, multiple Ipods and possibly a DVD player that plays the IPOD movies on a larger screen. All for the 2 hour flight And I usually end up doing Soduku puzzles or playing solitaire with real cards.

I'm just waiting to go through security when I go in September with the family....I'll be bringing 2 laptops, 1 wireless Verizon EVDO card, 1 Blackberry, 1 Cellphone, 1 GPS, 1 Digital SLR Camera with 2 lenses, 1 point and shoot camera, 1 video camera, extra batteries for the SLR and the video camera, 1 iPOD, 1 portable hard drive, 1 thumb drive, 1 nebulizer (for asthma medicine) and a portable dvd player -- all in one carry-on bag. Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to passing through security.

Cut one Laptop out, Cellphone, Portable DVD and the Portable Hard Drive and I'd say you'd save a lot of trouble.

Depends on the purpose of the trip... but, for work I carry the smartphone (which also acts as a broadband modem/wifi hotspot for the netbook), the netbook, the kindle (not just for reading books, but also have all my case notes and files in PDF format on it and the battery lasts the entire trip and beyond), Nuvi (if using a rental car), nano with hatphones for running (If spending the night), and all-weather/underwater P&S camera.

On vacation... we take the above plus the DSLR and 2 lenses, a DS, sometimes a second netbook. We pre-load movies on to the netbook drives to elimiate bringing disks.

Last time we flew to Grandma's we had a combined total of 3 laptops(came home with only 2, one was a gift), 3 Nintendo DS, 3 ipods, 4 cell phones, and a wii console(didn't want to check that just in case!) They didn't even bat an eye at security lol.

Just make sure you have plenty of time, practice packing that bag so you know by heart what is where, ask as you are unloading (if a TSA agent is there...they almost always are around, bringing bins back to stack, etc) what they need at that airport at that time to be out of the bag and what can stay in (airports aren't completely consistent, I've noticed).

DH has been complimented by TSA agents and int'l security people b/c he knows what is in his bag and can pull out what needs to be pulled out quickly and efficiently. Even when he had to go into a closed room on his last trip (b/c he was carrying things not yet available, and the agent wanted to look at them as an extra check, so he requested that they be somewhere private), he's never taken more than 5 minutes for them to look at his stuff b/c of his organization. He always gives himself about an hour, just in case, just for security, and so gets to relax.

Oh, I hear all of you:

We have two cell phones, iPod Touch and iPod, camera, Kindle, PLUS all of their charger cords.

For our next trip, we might have the iPhones by then (waiting for current AT&T contract to end so we get the discount in June).

But, great advice on learning how/what is in your carry-on. I'll remember that for out next trip.

Not me, but my husband takes all of the above and his GPS!!! He didn't take his GPS when we went to France and rented one, now we have to take the GPS on every trip also. But, he won't let me bring Rocky who weighs less than all of those electronics.

I have chargers, batteries, DSLR, 4 lenses, a flash, vid camera, P&S camera, more chargers, more batteries, usb cables, portable card reader, extra tapes for vid camera, extra memory, then in my small carry on portable backup / vid player, ds, extra batteries for that, head phones, cell phone etc etc. One time have I had my bag opened. Other times they must be able to tell what it is. Oh yea.. forgot the laptop, it actually goes in the backpack / camera bag.

when we travel we will have... 2 laptops (one with GPS), Sirius radio, 2 ipods, 2 cell phones (one with GPS), IPOD, portable DVD player, and new for this trip a standalone GPS... we're never getting lost. I think I'll have a contest between the 3 devices and see which one comes closest to the route I will really take.
If we were flying we would lose the Sirius, portable DVD, and GPS.

electronic gadgets can help us in any things like cellphone when we lost in one country we can call our relatives to help us, laptop can help us if weare going to have a vacation while working at net

it's going to be very interesting....but than again, i get stopped every single time I fly so we always allow extra time. It's always an adventure.
