Is anyone else disgusted about the state of Hollywood Studios?

and I'm not about to freak out until there is actually word out from Disney itself that those plans have been cancelled.

Apparently for Pixar place. Everything else has been described pretty vaguely. of course they take forever to do things but I do not believe the park will be left as it is.

Eh, I like DHS. No trip is complete without the Great Movie Ride in any case. And TOT. We like the Muppets too, but that's not a every trip thing. We usually manage a whole day there- we spent 2 days this trip. I guess if you skip all the shows it's a half day park.

It used to be my favourite as a teen. Sure, Universal Studios is a better movie themed park (at least it looks like there were actually TV shows/movies filmed there at some point), but prior to Diagon Alley we skipped as much as we rode anyway. Shrek 4D is fun but dreadfully outdated. It's 14 years old at least and it shows! We don't do Twister and Disaster! that often. Jaws was another every other visit one. Simpsons and MIB are must-dos. ET we only do if we're in the mood. I think it's obvious that Minion Mayhem is a must-do, along with 5,000 like-minded people.

For a long time Universal also had the really outdated attractions problem. IOA is a far better park. At least Disney are finally getting wind that DHS is starting to get a bit dusty!

Well there's been nothing new at DHS in quite a while, but between the shows and rides you can spend a whole day there, plus there's Star Wars weekends in the Spring, Frozen again this Summer, Unleash the Villains was in August last year, and they have the Osborne Lights in the winter, along with movie seek peeks and new character M&Gs, all of which draw in a crowd.

I'm assuming they'll wait until this year's D23 to release any info on the comming Star Wars and Pixar lands though, in the meantime what they have now I guess will have to do

but we do not know
what the plans are
could be canned any time
due to bean counters
or sent to other park

All possible..........maybe I am the optimist, hoping with all the changings already being worked on, the others are following.

I am mad about DHS in the regards that it isn't a two day park by now in the same way that MK is two day park. Before all the closures it was close to a full day for us.

To me all the non-MK parks just don't have enough attractions.

While I don't disagree that there isn't nearly as much to see or do at DHS than at MK or Epcot, I still have a lot of love for the park. Tower of Terror is one of my favorite attractions in all of WDW, and my family loves Toy Story Mania and Rock n Rollercoaster. I actually enjoy that the shows haven't changed...Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Muppet Vision, and Indiana Jones are all wonderful, and I fear the day that those classics are replaced with Frozen or Tangled. We also love Characterpolooza and One Man's Dream. Any trip to WDW seems incomplete without seeing Fantasmic. It's certainly not even remotely a two day park, but we always have a fantastic day there! Looking forward to the rumored additions to the park!

There was a point - early in the last decade - when the studios was my favorite park. I loved the attractions as well as the shows. As others have said, if you've never been, it can easily take a full day to experience the rides and see the shows.

But now I'm sad at what remains.

I don't go every year. But as someone who's been every few years over the past couple of decades, I really have no interest in the Great Movie Ride, the Indiana Jones show, Muppets, Beauty and the Beast, Lights motors action or the Little Mermaid show. I've seen them numerous times and they're exactly the same as they were the first time I saw them. I only go to those if I'm with someone who has never been.

So, what used to be at least a day, and sometimes a day and a half, park for me has become a half day park too. I just go and do the few things I still enjoy, such as Tower of Terror, Rock-n-roller coaster and Star tours. I like to stop at the lounge at the Hollywood Brown Derby if there's a table available for a snack and a cocktail. But that's about it. Thank goodness for park hoppers (which I don't think I would go to WDW without these days).

I'm seriously debating this time whether to deal with the crowds to see Fantasmic! I love it and everything, but again, it's the same as I've seen multiple times, and if there aren't two shows, it's so crowded. Not sure if it's worth it.

So yep, I'm sad.

I found Hollywood studios to be very boring on my recent trip. It really needs to be updated.

We sort of felt the same way last week when we were there (thats why we cant wait until "FSF" in July !)
If not for the fact that we go to both "Mama Melrose" and "Sci-Fi" on our "DHS" day, would now be a 1/2 day park for us--- I will say that I think "Fantasmic" is still magical, and doesnt seem to get much love--- only time I really read about it is on a "Fantasmic" dining pkg thread-
