Is anyone else bothered that the Wish's sailings are so short?

Rarely -40 before wind chill is considered, to be honest. Winnipeg is definitely colder. But we had (multiple) mornings at the ski hill this past winter that were below -30 on the thermometer, and windy besides; easily -40 wind chill on those days.

But we also don't consider -15 to be "extreme cold" in Ottawa, or 20 cm of snow to qualify as a "snowfall warning". Toronto is a bit of a national laughingstock when it comes to winter weather. (Sorry Torontonians, we love you, but I'm not sure you'll ever live down calling in the army in 1999.)

Back on topic: not sure I'd say I'm bothered, exactly, but we'll likely skip the Wish as long as it's on 3-4 day itineraries. Same reason Dream is the only DCL ship we haven't yet sailed. It's unlikely that all three of the new ships will run short Caribbean itineraries year-round, so we'll probably hold out for something longer.

lol yeah that's why I specifically said Toronto. (I'm mostly just jealous of everyone that isn't stuck in -45 and colder for 2-3 months straight.

I actually view it as a good thing they are not doing more interesting ports for its inaugural year. If they sent the Wish to Europe or Alaska, I’d be doing excursions all day, which I can do on any ship. But for the wish, we want to enjoy the new adult and family pools, the aquamouse, the new rainforest room, the family hero zone games, the frozen picnic, the brunches at palo/enchante…etc etc. The ship itself is the destination for us.

Yeah, we're not getting off the boat in Nassau. 4 nights is fine with me, I just want to see the ship. I'm far more excited for Alaska 23 than I am for Wish 22.

So we're doing a b2b. We will not get off the first one (3 night) but we plan to do that pirate boat on the 4 night.

I agree! We are booked on the August 5th and August 8th cruise. Can't wait!!

It's a lot more expensive to do a b2b on the Wish than 7 days on the Fantasy. I believe you also have to get a covid test between the two.

You do indeed have to test between cruises.

I wouldn’t read too much into it. This happens a lot with DCL cruises. People get super hyped about new ships or itineraries and book… then final payment comes due and suddenly that trip isn’t nearly as appealing.

Exactly. This is why I haven’t booked yet. Probably book a b2b during the next release, unless there’s an 8+ night cruise that catches my eye. Got a couple of placeholders looking for a home

The final payment isn't even due yet. I think there are a lot of reasons people canceled. That being said I'm hoping to see some discounted guaranteed rates.

How long has Dream been scheduled for the 3 and 4-night cruises? YEARS!

2020 I had planned to do a 7 night Fantasy followed by a 4 night Dream. It would have made me Gold and be a grand slam. Oh well. Maybe one day.

Yes, I hate that there are only 3 and 4 night sailings on the Wish. We are doing a 4-nighter in July 2022. B2Bs are too expensive on DCL. We live in the Fort Lauderdale area and we can sail on Princess or RCCL or Celebrity for a whole lot less for a 7-nighter (or even a 10-nighter).
