Is anyone else afraid to post to certain posts?

This thread is very interesting reading........I too have many opinions since I'm living both sides of the issues (being a Canadian living in the US) However, I'm very hesitant to post any political opinions as well........ ........too chicken, I guess :worried:

eleanor's post was very thought provoking..........

Without starting a debate, I'll just say, (very politely I will add......)
Damo - you'd be surprised!!

I have found that expressing one's opinion (aka the first amendment) is a very important part of the American culture.

I'm with you guys, I'd love to chime in on the debate board to hopefully give another opinion, but don't want to get flamed! Thus, I just look at it as interesting reading! The current CB discussion on cancelling the newsletter (sorry I don't know how to post the thread) is really interesting reading!

Now........I'm debating whether I should send this............uuummm...........ooops my finger slipped.........too late.........please don't flame me.........on second thought, it's OK it's too darn cold down here and I could use the warmth ::yes:: :D

Count me in as chicken too!!:crazy2:

Started out lurking, and very timidly posted for info...got over that fast!! Anyway, I enjoy these boards too much to be "negative" or "gettin' my dander up";) Someone has an opinion - glad to read it...never know what I might learn...JMO :sunny:

Just like momma always says...if you can't say something nice - say nothing at all!:sunny:

Another thing.......all this communcation through the instant written word is amazing, but can also get you into trouble.

I learned a very good lesson at work once. Sent off what I thought was a innocent email to a client (I didn't proof it) and boy was he upset! I was stunned and once I re-read it, I saw his point. You cannot usually tell the intended tone of the author (before smilies anyway ;) ) and therefore three different people can read one single post and interpret the tone and intent three different ways. When reading, I take this into consideration

This is why I also edit, preview, re-edit, check the spelling, preview again, and then not send!

:sunny:

Yzma and Kronk, that is too funny :teeth: after all that work and then we just delete it. I know I am guilty of that too.

mbb, I was really tempted to say just that on the cruise board on the discussion of who does not love Palo's, but I chickened out and deleted it.

damo---cute puppies

eleanor--There are a lot worse things to be than smug

OH OH OH, I have done it now.

I just said something on another board that will probably have someone very pissed off at me, but I am tired of people putting other people and their opinions down.

I just want some people to grow up and treat people with respect.

Good thing I have broad shoulders and can take a flamin'

Cruisin'Kroezes tell us how it goes. I posted on the cruise board once that I really wasn't happy with the Disney Cruise. That my other cruises on other ships were of a higher quality, but that they had been MY experience and not everyone elses. Boy did I get it. I think that was the last time I posted something that was not the "norm". The Bush stuff sometimes is really hard to take but so far have stayed out of it.

Hey tigercat

I just noticed that your countdown and mine are very close to the same.

How long are you staying in Florida.

We actually are leaving on Jan 27 for 2 nights at the Pop Century and then leaving Jan 29 for the 3 night cruise.

I was wondering if our time there would overlap and where are you staying. We have never stayed onsite before and I am really looking forward to it.

Well, now I really did it.

The thread that I posted to is GONE :earseek:

There was one reply after mine that I saw and it had nothing to do with what I said. When I went to look for it again it was no where to be found.

What I said was not really that bad, at least I didn't think so. I was at least trying to say it nicely.

Can thread's just disappear like that?

Oh well, maybe I should wander over to the Community Board and try to kill the "thread that never dies" :smooth:

We are actually leaving the 21st of Jan. and traveling to Casselberry Fl. (near Orlando) and staying with friends of ours for 2 nights. Then we head down to Miami and stay there one night and the next day we board our ship. We are going with a group on the Carnival Spirit for an 8 night cruise to Belize, Panama and Costa Rica. We get back on Feb. 3 and heading to Pop Century for 4 nights. Then home. I am so looking forward to going. My dh says how long ..... and I can tell him LOL. He says that I really seem anxious for this vacation since I seem to know when we leave. Not sure if I will ever tell him about the countdown clock. Just let him think that I am so smart I know the # of days and hours. :) :)

Hey Cruisin'Kroezes:

I just went to look for the thread you posted on, as I wanted to see what happened after your post. I can't find it! I hate it when they do that!!!! ;)

Tigercat: Yep, you have to be a little careful on the cruise forum, they are DCL lovers there and don't much care for positive talk about other lines. I'm probably not thought highly of now because of what my countdown clock says!! :teeth:

Oh well, cheers!

No need to be chicken everyone. I have a great time on the debate board arguing with them about Bush, Iraq, and American politics in general. People will argue with you, but as long as you know what you're talking about, it's generally pretty civil. You just have to be able to handle a little debate, that's all.

Hey Oracle - I just took your advice and wasn't "chicken" over at the DB! However, sorry I think my position was opposite your's (but remember you encouraged me :D )
I have broad shoulders as well, so it'll be interesting to see how much I get flamed.......:scratchin
It actually takes work for formulate an opinion for the DB......and to delete it would have been ashame :D

My new motto........"jump right it.....the water's fine!"

Yzma and Kronk!

Have fun!!

Great to hear. If your opinion was opposite mine, I wouldn't worry about getting flamed. The DB usually doesn't appreciate my left-leaning politics. Which of course, makes it more fun, I love a good debate. Hope you enjoy it, the debate board can be a lot of fun.

Hey tigercat!!!!

I saw your post over on the community board.

Way to go, I am proud of you, you are getting braver :p

That thread was kind of the point of my previous post.

Thanks. I was encouraged with your ability to post. I have now posted another one that was a little more to the point. Boy, I can't believe I did it. It's nice of you to say you're proud of me. That meant ALOT to me. I am always trying to mediate situations not aggrivate them, but with the stuff going on with my heart I have decided that I need to start to speak out. Maybe then I won't hold so much in.

We Canadians are going to get a reputation if we don't watch out!!!:rotfl:
