I think I might have a real problem. My kids are scared to leave anything out - Mommy might sell it while they are at school. :lmao:

I just sold a used hot wheels over-the-door case (discontinued - like this one... http://www.amazon.com/Wheels-Over-Door-Display-Case/dp/B000MAJIG0 ) for over $50. :scared1: I paid $8 for it, like 4 years ago.

My son wanted a DS for Christmas. He told me that it was "ok if Santa bought it used". My heart broke over that one, so I was bound and determined to buy him one. I ended up buying him a DSi during the Amazon preorder - got the DSi, the Mario Party game, and a $25 video game credit for $150 - no shipping, no tax. I sold the Mario Party, plus two "lightening deal" games I got with the credit for $65 - so my out of pocket cost for the DSi was $85. (DS had a DS previously that broke, so he has games.)

Another big fan!!

I have purchased and sold on Craigslist...and if you do it right you can make money and get some great deals.

Recently sold a Leapster with games and a lot of women's clothing. Also redid our daughters bedroom last Christmas so sold her bed, dressers, bookshelves, etc through Craigslist.

I have received a few "shady looking" response emails when I post something, but I don't reply to those. I have not had a single problem buying or selling.

My Husband is... he is always searching for something amazing on Craigslist that he claims " is too good to pass up". He's on there every day! I have to talk him down off his Craigslist ledge quite often:rotfl:

I love Craig's list but I'm wary of giving strangers my home address (I think I have seen too many Law & Orders). If the item is small enough to fit in my car, I’ve ended up doing a number of meets in the local grocery parking lot. There have been too many horror stories.

I bought a used dollhouse for my DD over the summer. We met at Walgreens, and I swear the guy selling it looked soooo relieved when he saw me, I'm pretty non-threatening. :rotfl: It was a bit grungy, but a little bit of elbow grease and it was perfect. I haven't had much luck selling on craigslist, I get lots of interest and then nothing.... Everything that I had on craigslist but ended up selling on ebay I made 2-3 times what I was asking, so I don't think it was my asking price. :confused3 I've had great luck with the free section and passing stuff along though, sometimes the stuff we posted has been gone within the hour!

I have never had anyone come to my home...it is always a public place. I did drop a little tikes playhouse off once...it was too big to fit in the lady's car. I did not go in - just plopped it on the driveway.

I delete a lot of emails, too...I got one today that the email address was skulldrinker@ something.com. Did not respond to that one...

hmmmm....we have that same hot wheels storage item :scratchin

I've never been on it. I guess I'm just really leery about selling stuff there. I don't want to give out my address, but I also don't want to meet someone to do an exchange. That just seems weird to me. DH just tried to apply for a job through Craig's List and it ended up being a scam and now he keeps getting all kinds of spam. So he's not a fan :lmao:

My BIL has had luck selling stuff though. He just sold a lot of computer parts that he didn't need and got a lot of money! And my neighbor down the street sells a lot of her son's toys that he doesn't use anymore. She said that he has so many that sometimes she will take things when he is napping and hope that he forgets about them.

I have posted several things on Craigslist, and I also sell on ebay -- out of the maybe 25 items I've put on Craigslist, 2 have sold. Right now, I have 6 items on Craigslist, and had one response (real response, not those scam ones you get) to one item, made several appointments with her to have her come purchase the item, and finally, she seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. I am not impressed with Craigslist. On the other hand, almost everything I've listed on ebay has sold (with the exception of Disney pins, and that's a crapshoot because there are so many available).

I have sold several things on Craigslist!! They weren't expensive pieces. But I found the more info you can write about the item, what you used it for, what it could be used for, how it looks, it get more attention.

One time I was selling my Dd's computer desk that I had picked up at a garage sale for $5.00, she had spilled red nail polish on it, and there were 3 minor Scratches, and I took pics of the red nail polish, and each scratch. Then I put a cell phone number in the ad, no emails, Then when someone calls If they are really interesting in buying it I had it outside under an over hang, Then they could see it and further decide if they wanted it. The desk sold for $10.00. To a Mom and Dad that wanted it for their Dd and want a used desk as she was young. They figured the spilled polish gave the desk character and they wouldn't be upset if she spilled on it!!

And with the cell phone number no one ever called back or ever returned to our apt.

I've sold tons of things on craigslist. From clothing to furniture and especially gave tons of free stuff out that I had no use for.

I got my house and almost everything in it from CL! Right now I'm sitting in a living room chair I got from a model home, across from a oval sectional my son is sitting on, on a rug with a coffee table and two end tables that ALL came from CL:thumbsup2 My Ikea TV stand was put together by some poor soul and sold to me for $25... looooove it!!

I sold all of my old tube tvs on CL, paid for a good portion of the new ones. Whenever I'm tired of anything or plan to upgrade, it goes up on Craigslist. And the best thing is I've made soooo many friends on the site, always the nicest people.

I guess you can say I'm addicted... :3dglasses

We rented our house in MD out on CL and rented the house we rent in GA sight unseen on CL. :thumbsup2

We have also sold our dryer and several larger toys as well as bought toys. Right now I check CL for a Little Tikes/Step 2 type easel for DS3 almost daily. Nothing yet but I am hopeful that someone around here will want to get rid of theirs before Christmas!

I love CL but am having trouble selling some items that I thought would go fast. I have a huge lot in excellent shape of 18 month girl's clothing both summer and winter and a dozen cloth diapers name brands that I fought to get now I can't even sell them. I'm so disappointed. But trying again to see if I get any bites.

Dh sold his weight bench set on CL.

We have posted our entertainment center, mirror cabinet thingy and wooden bar stools 3 times.

1 guy called for the entertainment center but tv area was to small.
2nd guy called and asked if we still had it , he might buy it on the weekend but never called.

Mirror cabinet- one lady called sounded really interested. Said she 'd come the next evening after work and never called or showed up.

I told dh dont give out our home number or address. Cell number only so they wont know if we are home or not. Home addresses only if they sound serious.

wooden bar stools sold on 3rd posting. Those fit in my trunk so dh met the guy and his family. Dh said they were nice and excited about the bar stools. They drove 1 1/2 hour to buy these.

I have lots of dd clothes i want to sell in lots. If i get calls I will meet in public. Its so hard with the bigger items. I have an old treadmill and tony lil gazelle I need to get rid of.

For those who sell alot whats your trick?? Is it wording, pricing etc??????

Is anyone buying right now or do I just wait until March to post my items again. I would really LOVE to get rid of the entertainment center and mirroe cabinet those two are taking up lots of space in the garage

i sell A LOT on craigslist.. over 100 items/month. what a great alternative to ebay, for free!

I love Craigslist! I have made about $400 - 500 from selling all my old baby stuff. I have twins so there was tons of it. All I have sold is kids stuff and it all seems to go pretty fast.
