Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

Morning :goodvibes

Can I put a "poll" question within this thread or would I have to start a new thread?

Hi,

Any idea why disney have not got anything for palma on their port adventures? Only place they do not seem to have anything

I have no idea--it seems odd given how much there is to do there and that there are 5 cruises stopping there. Surely they will get something up eventually.

I am pretty sure you have to have started a thread to make a poll.

Only 199 days!!! Woot!!:yay:
Oh what a lovely thought that is:yay:

SORRY--this is Hadley: I am not used to Marika having an account and did not look to see who was logged in. Duh!

I don't think DCL has been there yet. I know last year Lisbon was a new port and the excursions did not show up till about 130 days before.

*************** POLL ******************** (rather keep to this thread as only about our cruise).

DH cannot make up his mind whether to wear a tux on the formal night/semi formal. If he was to wear it I think we would have to hire it as our luggage allowance is not great, but to hire it does cost alot.

I said I would ask all of you what the men are wearing :-

- Tux
- Suit and tie
- Smart trousers, shirt and tie

Any help would be appreciated.

************** SECOND POLL ******************

Pirate Night ...................... how many of you are dressing up?

If you are, are you going the whole dress up or just maybe a pirate t shirt and hat etc.

Again any thoughts appreciated.

Sorry to be so demanding with my questions :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I am pretty sure my DH will rent a tux for formal night ($85.00 on DCL website) and will wear a shirt and tie for the other less formal night. I will be dressing in a costume on pirate night (as well as my son) DH will wear a t-shirt with Mickey wearing a pirate hat. I am not sure about my MIL.. HTH!

Thanks Casey, if you rent the tux can you wear it more than once, say formal and semi form (if he wants to).

DH was thinking of wearing a pirate t shirt and a hat.

Look forward to hearing what others will do. You do not want to look underdressed if everyone else is wearing a tux but you do not want to look overdressed if everyone else is wearing shorts (exageration :lmao:).

Thanks again

For our experience you will see a wide range on formal night. We like the excuse to dress up and formal night is one of the highlights of a cruise for us. Rio and David will both be in tux's. Here they are on our May cruise on the Magic (I promise they did not have the "attitude" the entire night:rotfl2:):

We usually also dress for pirate night. I am not sure about this year (lots of growing has happened) but I imagine we will pull something together.

I am not sure how long you get the tux for??? I think he would be way over dressed for the semi formal night. I don't remember anyone wearing a tux on that night.

I've updated the website with some Palma Mallorca things to do. I still need to add more, but i've added a few for now :)

I'll have to go check it out. Thanks for all your hard work on the site:goodvibes

For pirate night we are going to do some kind of tee-shirts.:confused3
Not sure yet we want to "dress up" but not in full costumes.

I have no idea what my DF is going to wear for formal night. I mentioned formal night to him and I didn't get a response lol. I'm sure he wont want to rent a tux so probably a nice pair of slacks with a shirt and tie.

I want to add that DH will only be wearing a tux if they have his size. He is 6'6" and needs all of his work suits custom made so I guess we will see..

Oh I missed that part of the question. The only person I ever saw in a tux on semi formal night was a groom who had been married on the ship that day (and i am pretty sure they dined in Palo).

Rio is going to wear a suit for semi formal. Dave might but he will probably stick with a sports jacket and tie.

My guys own their tuxes (bought in the US for about what one rental costs) so it is easy for them--and they don't take up that much room in the garment bag;) Though--I admit now that we drive to port it is MUCH easier to pack:woohoo: In May we brought a rolling bag of wine bottles--one per night to have in the evening with room service snacks as we got ready for dinner. It was such a nice treat to be able to bring that from home:goodvibes

Dave is 6' 5" and we are in the same boat with work suits (for h eighth and shoulder with) but he always found tuxes okay--no idea why they seem to be made in more sizes:confused3

You know what, I just checked Ebay, and there are alot of options around the same price as the rental!

Yep--and then you have it for other cruises and the like:goodvibes It is not uncommon for rental shops to sell their old stock right about now and buy all new for the upcomming prom and wedding season. Sometimes you can buy a pretty high quality former rental tux with very minimal wear on it for the price of a one time rental. That would allow your DH to try it on if he is worried.

Well, we are going to be very bad on this trip! Not sure we are going to do the formal night! My DH wears a suit and tie everyday for work, and when on vacation, has no interest in dressing up! We will attend the semi-formal night (will there be one on this cruise?), or just wear a shirt, tie, dress pants for both. Everyone will probably see me in the same dress for all of those dress up nights!:lmao: Gotta leave room for the souveniers!

We are in the same boat (excuse the pun). I think Jason looks GREAT in his tux but he is miserable when he wears it. I broached the question and he said there was no way he waas lugging the jacket around thw world to wear in the Med summer heat and he would just wear the pants and a dress shirt. No tie. Topic closed for him. What do people do about children - I have no idea want to put the boys in.

We WILL be pulling something together for Pirate night although not too elaborate as we have to pack light.

I also tried to get my husband to wear suit!looking doubtful!
As we live in the European heat, unless Disney have cold air condition, the men will be too hot!For ladies not an issue as dresses tend to be sleeveless etc. To give you a better idea,in August-10th Dep last year, I was wearing a
Bikini constantly because it was 120, However, bear in mind that as you are in the sun heat of a day, late at night you will feel a temperature drop which is a relief for those with a redish tan??skin cooler???and of course at sea you have a breeze!

Is it a requirement for men to wear a jacket & tie/suit?????????

Pirate night,my daughter costume,us just hat etc

Is anyone staying at any of the following:These are our plans.
26th Front air congress hotel Barcelona
27th cruise
3rd Sep - 6th Sep Icaria Barcelona hotel

Does anyone have daughter age 5-7 looking for a play friend????????

What time is the best time to arrive at port for embarkation/reg port
