Is anyone cancelling a trip and you have already bought the tickets...

We all need a different amount of time to get our confidence back. I think those that live nearer to the horrors that happened might take even more time. (ME!) We have constant daily reminders of what happened. Even now, the 2 passenger rule for entering any of the tunnels or bridges into NYC, I don't think is just to cut down on the traffic mess. There is something else going on here that is going unsaid.

These reminders make it harder to get back to normal. I change my mind several times a day about flying. However, I must say having a Bloody Mary in flight is sounding better and better.:D

Cindala - I know what you mean. I live in River Edge and it's very hard for me to get back to normal.

We are supposed to fly in early December but I don't know if it will happen. I too purchased my non-refundable tickets in July, flying Delta.

I used to love going into Manhattan and go shopping; now I am afraid of going to the nearest mall. There have been numerous amounts of bomb threats on the bridges and crossings.

I can only hope and pray that things will settle down and get back to "normal".

Roundtrip Airline Tickets from National to MCO: $800.00

Look On Twins Face When Told "We are Driving": Priceless

We have decided to drive regardless of what happens with our tickets we have thru US Air flying out of National. Our 7 year old twins were apparently more apprehensive about flying than we thought, and that was the deciding factor for us. I of course would like vouchers, or money back if National doesn't reopen, but in the grand scheme of things, peace of mind for our children(me too!) is worth it.

Look on kids faces when we told them we got great airfares from Denver to Tampa and are going on a cruise on the 13th of Oct - priceless.

Kids are not worried because parents are not worried. End of story.

Parents were not worried, but my kids are sensitive , and my DS especially, paranoid. Can't blame it on the parents here, since they are twins raised the same way, at the same time, in the same house. They are just 2 different human beings, each with their own beliefs, thoughts, habits, attitudes, and yes....... fears. During this time of sadness, I was just trying to add some humor. Sorry if it missed the mark. End of story.

For all of you flying US AIR they have updated their policies. I just spoke to a VERY nice person, and she said even if you have nonrefundable tcikets, and you want to cancel, try calling the refund department to see what they can do.

Was not meaning to comment on your particular situation. Everyone different. Just sharing a counterpoint.

Glad to hear that you and your family worked things out. Have an enjoyable vacation!!!!!
