Ya know, it all just reminds me of the Keystone Kops.
DH & I were astonished to find out that the 3 "boys"
were in the SAME CELL together until just a day or two ago,
umm.... HELLO??
Can the Aruban Police say, "collusion?"
Then one of the poor security guards who was left to hang,
says how he was next to one of the brothers
and the quote the guard gave the police is what
they've been acting on searching near the Marriott.
But if the police were still holding the guards under suspicion,
why put all of the five suspects in such close proximity?
Reporters asked about this, and were told by
someone in authority, "We only have 8 jail cells." UGH!

However, FOX news reported tonight that the Aruban Police
may have intentionally let the 3 young men go in hopes of placing
them under surveillance.
They reported that the police did tap their cell phones
while they were free before being re-arrested.
So, maybe they are doing some "real" police work!

Of course it is terrible that this happened - but the girl shouldn't have been going off alone with three men she barely knew. I'm not trying to say she deserved to be murdered or anything, but she made a very irresponsible choice.

Whether you are in Aruba or Anytown, USA getting into a vehicle with one man you don't know, let along three - is extremely foolish and risky.

Did the parents know there would be so few chaperones? I wouldn't have let my girls go on a trip like this. Why do teenagers need a big vacation just for graduation high school anyway? Senior trips have gotten way out of hand. In my day, the senior trip was an afternoon at Disneyland.

I completely agree with you. The girl was obviously too naive and trusting, or just didn't care. Either way, I feel horrible for the parents. I really think there is a cover-up going on with that judge's son. I am sure he knows people in high places, and if that is the case, this may never be solved.

I can't speak for anyone else and most certainly not the press but I couldn't care less what her race is/was or how much money she had. In fact, I don't think her whole family anyway is affluent. The fact is she is a teenager who obviously worked hard. I'm a teacher - 4.0 PLUS grade point average upon graduating high school and full scholarships to go pre - Med. like she had don't come along often. It appears a LOT of parents are letting their teens go on these trips and the thought that this could happen and her family has no answers no matter if she was white, black, yellow, or purple. Why does the press report what they do? Who knows in a society that hears about what Tom Cruise had for lunch sooner than tragic crimes happening every day? And it's obvious, being white and rich didn't help any of the names you mentioned.

I've heard the possibility that perhaps they slipped something into her drink, so she may not have gone willingly.

The TV stations like CNN, FOX, MSNBC, always have to have a "hot topic" to investigate and discuss to increase viewership. When one dies down, they come up with another one.

After seeing the dutch suspect's father
interrogated as a "witness" 3 hours Friday night,
and 2 more hours Saturday morning,
then seeing him run from the cameras trying to hide,
and with a fourth guy arrested in connection with it,
I'm beginning to think Natalee was sold.
It happens very frequently in many parts of the world,
and our own country estimated as late as 2001
(latest year for stats) that 50,000 women & children,
& an unknown amount of men, were brought into the U.S.
against their will as servants and prostitutes (children included).
We live in a very sick world.

I have a feeling she is the ocean and those boys put her there. I can understand why they are not telling the press anything...they can't compromise the info they have. We will find out the truth soon.

A search team made up of people in law enforcement or formerly so from Texas have gone to Aruba to search for Natalee. They were due to arrive last night but I'm sure it will take a little bit to get them set up. Some are on horseback, they have 3 dogs, and some sonar equipment for the water. This group was started by a man whose daughter was murdered and is funded by donations etc. They went their at the request of Natalee's uncle I read. I hope it's not too late to give the family some answers and closure. It makes me feel proud those people would volunteer to go search - it makes me sad it's come to this because it seems like the Aruban authorities are stuck. I DO hope I'm wrong about that though.

I remember that age well. At that age you feel untouchable. I'm sure this Joran was very smooth talking, handsome, etc. and thats why she trusted him.

My husband also thinks she was sold into prostitution. Its so sad. She was born here in Mississippi and its constantly on the news. I feel so bad for this family.
