Is anybody watching "Parenthood?"

I really like this show. It's nice to have something that doesn't revolve around crime and violence.

I couldn't agree more. Also, I'm so done with reality shows. Now if only this show were set someplace exotic, like Hawaii, it'd be perfect!!

All I have seen is that Raquel flirts with him like crazy. I hate her.
I have not seen Joel flirt back or do anything like that. I just hope he doesn't. And Julia needs to punch Raquel in the nose! lol
Oh, and the way Raquels daughter always is the princess ticks me off too.

I really like it. Especially the house. It looks like a real lived in home. Not a generic subdivision or anything. I think they do a great job by not making the parents seem anything other than normal.
Oh, I do have a question....remember when Sarahs car dies and her parents offer to buy her one. She turned them down. Then like the next episode, she had a different car. I never remember her accepting their offer or if she got child support money or anything. Anyone else remember seeing her allow her parents to buy a car?

I love it but I always adore character driven dramedys so I'm a sucker for this show.

Of course, they always get canceled. Give me a good character driven show any day over reality crap!

Add another fan to the list! Love the show! Have a personal connection to the storyline with Max as my DS9 has Aspergers too, they have done a great job with it. I'm one episode behind but DVR it so hope to catch up this weekend.

I really like this show, too, and hope more people will watch it so it has a chance of not being canceled. I never can remember when it comes on (and they've bounced it around some) so I just set the DVR to catch it and am excited when I see it sitting there waiting for me to watch!

No wonder he looks so familiar. I was so touched at her 'date' arrangement and his response. Wait til next week when she finds her crushed daughter in the shower with her boyfriend!!! I really like the show. The autism story line is cool although I'm not sure what's with the tutor and doing shots all night long....kinda dumb. 'Kittens on the grill' indeed!! lol!

Yeah crime/violence or also any supernatural/alien goings-on. We watch several reality shows, 24, CSI, and also V, Flash Forward, Caprica, and my husband watches Fringe. We don't watch Lost, but it would also fall into that "what's-really-going-on?" category that is so popular these days.

I like those shows, but I love also having Parenthood, 90210, and Ugly Betty ( ) because they're all about friend/family relationships and not about weird things happening. It's a nice change of pace.

Dang, I sure do watch a lot of TV shows . Celebrity Apprentice, Survivor, American Idol, Top Model, and Project Runway! But we record them all and watch without commercials, and we also don't have kids .

I really love that show! Alas, since I like it, it probably won't get renewed for another season.

I had this exact thought as I was watching it last night on Tivo.

I really like that they don't get stuff settled every episode, they're screwed up and that's okay. Kinda like a real family. I so identify with Adam (I'm the oldest) trying to fix everything and keep his own stuff in line too.

I called my mom by her first name for the first couple of years after she came back into my life. Knowing someone is your parent and feeling it are two different things. The kid has only known him a couple of weeks.

He just met him Dad a few weeks ago... I can't imagine just meeting someone and calling them Mom or Dad. If the writers did that then the story would be difficult to "believe", IMHO.

This show has definitely grown on me. At first I didn't take much notice but some of the commercials caught my eye so I made a point to watch it one night. Now I DVR it every week. Sometimes a scene will jog my memory of the movie so I've been tempted to rent it and try to catch up. In the movie, didn't one of the teens get pregnant?

So Joel tells Julia that awhile ago Raquel tried to kiss him but he shut her down. So then Julia says no more playdates and the kids Sydney and Harmony cant play anymore, except there is a scene where the two little girls have their arms around each other and Julia realizes she cant keep the two little girls apart. She cant hurt her daughter.

I love this show. It reminds me of my husband's family (although there are 5 of them not 4). It's funny that I can pick which sibling on the show corresponds with his siblings. My husband is Adam for sure. Even though he's not the oldest, he's the one that everyone goes to for advice and stuff.

I hope it stays on. It's one of only a couple of shows my husband and I agree on.

Adam's wife called him at work, and asked him to come home early, "kittens on the grill". He had to take some clients out for drinks. His wife called again and he tried to get away. But the clients convinced him with one more drink, and it got a non-alcoholic drink. But then his wife called and cancelled and asked him to pick up corn flakes for breakfast. He was very disappointed. Then he saw his sons tutor taking shots and dancing at the bar he was at. I think the scene was the start of his melt down and at the end of the show, he took his wife's advice and took "a break".

It's total working parent guilt. She's always screwing up with her daughter (like teaching her to swim) and I think she just feels like she has to do anything to make her daughter happy. KWIM?
