Is an ocean view room all that great?

It does look like a turkey or chicken, but we were told by our room steward that it was, indeed a monkey!!!

Check out this link from Dave's site....he had at one time compliled all the towel sculptures that had been made for DCL and many Diser's (myself included) sent in their pics of towel sculptures....make sure you check out the towel "animals" at the bottom of the blue links.......my two DD's and one of their friends are part of those towel animals...LOL!!

We had an outside room on our first cruise. Had an inside on our 2nd, and have booked another outside for our upcoming 3rd cruise. Although space-wise, the inside was fine for the 4 of us ... I realize that I need the natural light. I spent a lot of time waking up in the middle of the night wondering what time it was and then not waking up in the morning because it was still so dark. I agree with the other poster that said they don't like to set an alarm on vacation, but I also didn't want to sleep my vacation away in my room ... there are deck chairs for that :rotfl:

mmouse37, thanks for the pics. What was hanging in the window?? It looked like a body cast for a turkey! :rotfl:

Ah, 'tis a monkey towel scupture. I had one hanging on a PotC conceptual art print after dinner one night. We also had an elephant. Check out Barb and Tony's site www dot castawayclub dot com for more pictures.

I've checked out the pictures, pretty cool! I still say it's a turkey cast! ;)

We had an outside porthole stateroom on our first cruise but booked insided and we where updgraded. I have to admit that we liked looking outside and our 2 1/2 year old at the time could stand in the window and look at the water. He thought the foam/white caps was milk and wanted to know why the ocean had milk. On our second we booked insided and had an inside. We have had inside on many other cruises and I like that also as you can sleep as it is pitch black. Also, if your kids take naps it is good, quite and dark in the day. Our did and my wife and I took turns napping. We actually got some rest. Other than that you don't spend much time in the cabin. Not sure it is worth the price to pay for the outside. I would book inside and hope for and upgrade. We have been upgrade and received more than we paid for each time. Good luck and have fun!
