Is an annual pass ever worth it for UK DVC members?

We have just purchased our first DVC contract and potentially might go twice in the first twelve months.

Looking at the annual pass cost this is $1295 pp so for a family of 3 would be $3900 which based on the current exchange rate would be £3127

Looking at a website like attractionstickets the cost is £529 for a 21 day ticket for an adult and £505 for a child. So if you total 2, 3 week trips that equals £3126?

Am I missing something here that it is cheaper to buy the tickets in the UK individually rather than buying the AP? Makes no sense to me....

No, you're not missing anything. If you purchase direct (and get the benefits) and don't go during blackout dates, you can get a DVC Gold Annual pass for $719 + tax (it goes down $100 for renewing). Or you can get the DVC Member Platinum Pass for $899 + tax.

Did you purchase a resale contract or directly from Disney?

Price list (as of February 2020):
https://allears.net/walt-disney-world/wdw-planning/walt-disney-world-ticket-prices/#four
NOTE: renewal prices provide a $100-ish discount/year.

One more thing is that if you do qualify for the DVC annual pass prices is that the Memory Maker pictures stay on your account for the full year that the AP is valid (rather than having a deadline to download pictures, etc.)....

You can't purchase for $719 if you purchased resale. It's a DVC direct member benefit and you have to buy 100 points direct in order to qualify for those benefits.

Thanks makes sense. So that means we may as well just buy tickets individually from UK rather than trying to cram two trips into one year I guess.

You could stagger trips over 2 calendar years, as we have been doing. We buy an AP every 3rd year.
In year 1 we go latter half of month, In year 2 we go in 1st half of same month (within 365 days of previous trip).
Then in year 3 we do a Non-Parks trip. So 1 AP lasts for 3 trips/3 years.

Same as us , we are dvc members from UK and are annual pass members .
We go three weeks per year , 2 weeks in summer and a week in November one year and three weeks the following.
We purchase the gold pass for $719 ( current price )
As E2ME2 said previously , We can get 6 weeks years travel out of annual pass
We would go late in July one year for 2 weeks and week in November , then go three weeks at end of June / start of July following year , and all on one annual pass
We never renew the annual pass , because you would only get one year out of it
With the cost of tickets from Disney.co.uk it works out far cheaper with the annual pass , we work out it’s half the price
Plus you get so much more benefits with having the annual pass . It’s a must for dvc members from UK in my opinion

Im from the UK. I use my DVC to stay 3 weeks every 2 years.
Get a Gold pass as I have 155 points direct so I can stay at RVA and any new resorts.
155 points every 2 years gets me a 1BR preferred in January for a week.
I then have 400 points resale. Tend to stay 1 week in 3 resorts every time I go (every 2 years)
