Hi!

I have been reading about the AMEX White Glove Treatment. Is it really worth putting the room on my AMEX? or should I just charge it to my VISA?

Anyone have any experience with this? I'd love to hear

Thanks:confused:

We do it....doesn't cost anything more.
Or am I missing something in your question?
VISA/AMEX, what's the difference? (and I do have both).

I wouldn't make a financial decision based on it...I think I got 2 pin lanyards, some pins and a booklet that listed discounts (you didn't need coupons to get the discounts). If you go to Mousesavers & look under WDW and then under meals or Other savings you can see the discounts Amex provides. At the world of disney store I got a good discount off a $50 purchase by showing my room key & using my card. No one said I had to have the amex linked to my room key for purchases.

if one gives you better points or miles go for that. If you're not going to pay it off right away, I wouldn't advise using AxEx, because they have a high interest rate for the stuff they let you carry over.

If you have another AmEx card ( i.e. Delta Sky Miles) that also counts as an AmEx card. You not only get the lanyards, but 15% off of your purchases at DTD, which is where we go first to look for souvenirs. It makes quite a bit of difference!

Lisa:cool:

Unfortunately it is only 10% off at DTD now and they do often ask for your room key to verify you are staying at a Disney resort.

Whats the difference? If you plan on paying the trip off in full when you return home there is no difference.

I put mine on my AmEx no matter what. I still pay it off when the bill comes so I don't see why you would chose one over the other.

I was really looking to see if the perks were worth it since I have a card where I get air miles too. So the questions is: Air Miles vs. the perks and discount.

By the way I decided to purchase AP's so I know there discounts there too.

I see. Well, that is a different question. I would take the miles.

We lucked out and got both because we have the AmEx Delta Skymiles card so last Sept we paid for our stay with that card and got Whiteglove and miles:)

TI don't think there would be any problem with your settling the bill from hotel with Visa at check-out. I will often use Amex at check-in since my Amex has a virtually limitless maximum. Deposit will be assigned to Amex but I think daily charges to room key are not applied until check-out.

Just in case anyone's interested -

"Blue" from American Express receives the White Glove Treatment as well. This is a card with a revolving balance. DH and I used ours for a trip to CBR early this year. Interest rate was only 9.9% (same as our Visa) and we got a few more perks.

Thought I'd throw that out for anyone not looking to pay entire balance upon return home.

BTW - Isn't WDW switching to Visa instead of continuing their partnership with AmEx? Thought I'd read that here somewhere.

Yes. Begining in 2003 Disney will be ending it's partnership with AmEx to start somesort of rewards program through VISA. Not many details have been released yet.
