Is All star sports...

Does anyone know where to find pictures of the refurb'd All Star Sports rooms? I'm not having any luck doing a search, and I'm really curious... just excited w/ anticipation I guess! Thanks.

Go to allearsnet.com
Click on blog central (near the middle/top of the page)
Go to Linda Mac's Orlando Adventure
On the right hand side you should be able to click on All Star Resorts

There you will find the refurbished Sports rooms!

I looked at that photos I really don't see the big difference between the new design and the old.

After looking at the photos myself, the newly rehabbed rooms look much nicer to me. Unless I'm seeing things, they look much classier than the cartoonish look the old rooms had. In fact, these rooms look nicer to me than the rooms at Pop!:thumbsup2

All disney resorts (including value) are clean and great fun. The decor can sometimes seem a little over the top at the value resorts, but the food, service and atmosphere cant be beat.

The OP should definately go moderate or deluxe if she's concerned she'll get an "icky" room. I think the posts about the value resorts and what they may be lacking are getting old. They are a VALUE choice for vacationers. They aren't promising you luxury rooms and surroundings at value prices. Get over it!

I agree that you shouldn't expect luxury for the prices you pay there but my complaint is with the housekeeping at All-Star Sports. I'm one of those people that posts about the value resorts and I'm not going to "get over it". I don't care how much your room costs, it should be clean.

We will be there in Dec. Is the surf's up pool back up and running?

Yes, it's re-opened.

The original poster didn't say anything about cleanliness, they had a problem with the pictures of the rooms! Issues about cleanliness are addressed on these boards about all the resort categories. It's a totally different issue than the OP's issue about the room decor.

Well thanks to those of you that really helped me instead of attacking me. As i have clarified three times now i meant outdated looking when said icky but i ALSO said i did NOT care about it i was just surprised. Like i said we will hardly be there. We're taking 13 people so that is why we are staying at a budget. Also i HAVE stayed in sports when i was younger (1997) and the pictures i saw were the same as when i was there 11 years ago. It just seemed odd to me that ANY hotel would use the same linens for 11 years. As i said, i did not know they had been refurbished... that excites me greatly.

Thanks! I am under the impression we'll be staying in surfs up since we have reserved preferred rooms so this is probably what mine will look like! Very nice

Anyone know if Touchdown! building 10 has been refurb'd yet? I know building 7 of Touchdown has, but I was thinking about requesting 10 for the parking lot side. I won't if its one of the few that hasn't been re-done.

Thanks!

The pictures posted here are the old decor. We stayed there Saturday and Sunday night. Our room in the tennis section was so new that I would be surprised if it had been open more than a month. I liked the decor much better than the old version.

We stayed at Sports b/c our son, who is in the college program, is working at Music. We could get Sports for $59 a night but the best rate offered to me at Music was $109. Easy decision and still not a long commute -- walking -- for DS.

While I prefer a deluxe or moderate, I really liked the $59 a night.:rotfl:

We had a wonderful visit at Sports this past July. Admittedly, we were only there for one night prior to moving to POR for the remainder of our stay; but we were quite pleasantly surprised by our very recently refurbished room and the friendly staff. While our previoud Sports stay (1 1/2 years earlier) had not been bad, this one was much better.

Here are some photos:

The layout is essentially the same as a moderate, only very slightly smaller Here are some similar photos from POR....

Just to let you know, that the pics that I posted were also from Surf's Up, and we were just there in September. They may have refurbed the whole section by now but our room wasn't refurbed at that time.

I know that the OP didn't say anything about cleanliness. I wasn't responding to the OP. I was responding to a very rude poster who told the poster to "get over it". In that posters remarks, he/she said they were tired of threads on here complaining about what value resorts do not have. I was stepping up saying that I have been responsible for some of the activity in those threads and I feel I had good reason. Sorry that I didn't make that clear. :goodvibes

Those beds don't look like they'd be comfy to sit up to read or watch tv....:scared: Even with using the pillows....
