Is AliExpress safe?

My computer did not come with the Office Suite on it. I really miss having Word and don't like the online options that are "the same, but not"

I was looking online to purchase Word and came across AliExpress. Apparently I've been living under a rock because I've never heard of it. I researched it online to make sure I won't be getting scammed, and for the most part, it looks safe. I have red flags because I can get the whole suite for less than $4. It makes sense that they can sell it so cheap because they are cutting out the middle man, and also because they sell in bulk.

I'm also worried about getting a virus, but I know not to open any attachments they send in the email (the purchase is just for the key to install the programs). Plus, I think I have a virus scan on my computer, but not 100% certain.

So, should I risk my $4 and buy it?

AliExpress is a Chinese site. The biggest issue is that it often takes a really long time to get what you order if it has to be shipped. With the key you don't have this issue, but it may not be completely legitimate. It may work for a while until an update comes along and it just stops working. You might be better off getting the educational Office package. You can sometimes find it for less than $100.

I've purchased several Lifepo4 batteries from AliExpress and had a good experience each time. The only issue is just like kanerf mentioned in that it can take some time for things to get shipped and arrive.

This is to purchase a key, not the actual package and all the reviews say they get it almost instantly. At the worst, I've lost $4. I found a free month of Microsoft 365 so I have til the end of February to decide if I really want to do it.

Before buying Word or any Microsoft Office key check to see if your employee email or any student emails you might have access to qualify for Office 365.

I used to pay for a family subscription until I realized I get 5 installations through my work email, my wife gets 5 through her school email, and each of my college aged kids get 5 installations through their college emails.

Thanks for the advice. I will look into it.

Check out URCDKEY.com . I used this for my current computer, for both Windows 10 pro and the Full Office suite. Got keys for both and have been using them without any problem for the last 1.5 years.

Ali express is legit but it’s mostly off brand stuff and cheap quality. It’s also for awhole behind the scenes market to sell knock offs for designer brands. It’s a crazy site!

AliExpress is equivalent to eBay to me; yes, the site itself is trustworthy. However it is left to the vendor themselves to have a legit product or not. I've ordered from AliExpress a few times, usually basic items that I couldn't find elsewhere and shipping took a bit. I would not order software keys from them though. That's nothing against AliExpress or the vendors, that's just because Microsoft can be SO annoying about authentication -- and constantly authenticating that I'd rather pay for the real thing.

And with that being said, I don't like the tag price so I don't have MS Office on this computer. I use Google Suite or Open Office, when I need a program that is close to Office.

Yes to AliEx being much like EBay. I believe it’s an offshoot of Alibaba which is even bigger than EBay.

Generally the extremely cheap Windows and Office keys are not legal for use by the buyer.

They are keys priced to be sold in other countries or keys associated with an Enterprise account and only to be used by that company.

Will they work?

Probably.

So it becomes a moral question for the buyer.

There is an illegal way to solve the problem but it is unlikely that you will use it. But if we talk about your situation, I don't think that this is the only seller on Aliexpress. Before you buy something, you need to look very well for the very thing that you need. But it may take you a lot of time and I'm sure that Alitools will help you save it, as it once helped me.

there's clothes on the site, so technically yes?
