IS a WISHES FASTPASS really worth it?

Not worth it. The new hub is great for watching celebrate the magic, and wishes is best viewed behind the castle. I wouldn't waste a FP for it.

I completely disagree with this. The fireworks are set off behind Fantasyland. Although it is loud behind the castle, and you can see some of them, many are obstructed by trees, etc. They were designed to be seen from in front of the castle on Main Street. In order to get the effect of the way they were designed and choreographed with the music, you have to see them from the front. While many people like to "see" them from behind, I think to say they are "best viewed from behind the castle" is absolutely not the case.

Another good experience here. It wasn't over-crowded (early June) and we didn't waste any time hunting for a spot. We didn't really "give up" a 4th FP+ opportunity either as we went to MK after a half day at AK where you can ride everything you want without a FP+ if you time it right.

I would definitely consider doing it again.

A lot of people must think they're worth it because I'm not able to get them on either night I plan to be in MK on my upcoming trip

Same here...and of course their lack of availability makes me doubt myself and believe that I must be doing something wrong and absolutely need one. LOL!! Ahhh the inanity of human behaviour.

haha me too, now I can't get one I suddenly need it or it will be the end of the world

This is a little off topic, but what do people think of Wishes vs. MSEP fastpasses?

Depends on which you'd rather see.

As it stands now, you can't see Wishes or Celebrate the Magic from the MSEP FP location
and you can't see MSEP from the Wishes FP locations.

But, you CAN see MSEP very well from the MSEP FP location,
and you CAN see Wishes and Celebrate the Magic very well from the Wishes FP location.

It might (MIGHT) be that they will move the parade FP area back to the Hub when the Hub redesign is completed. But, that might generate an additional conundrum.

what about using fp for MSEP and fp for wishes/ctm? we aren't arriving at mk until evening so i guess this is a possibility for us. is that not recommended? would you be fighting crowds to get from one fp area to the other?

1. Good plan, except...
2. Yes, it would.

The best strategy is to get into the street IMMEDIATELY as the end of MSEP goes by, and follow the end of the parade down Main Street. Go as far as you can toward the Hub, and then jump over into the sidewalk to get to either of the Wishes FP+ areas.

hahaha...i figured that'd be too easy. so if you were to choose to fp one and "standby" the other, it seems like watching MSEP with no fp from frontierland (and getting there 30 min early to claim a spot) and then fp wishes/ctm and get there when we can from our spot watching msep would work ok? on our night there, MSEP is at 9 pm and wishes/ctm are 10/9:45pm.

1. Nope.
2. You'd never make it.

I would like to try for Wishes again this trip even though they moved the FP+ location.
October was the first trip I ever saw Celebrate the Magic. It has quickly become my 'must do' once every trip now.
It was simply spectacular IMO

We had MSEP and Wishes last October but that was when they were in the same area and we could just stay put.

We did a Wishes FP+ back in May and it was so worth it, compared to the bustle/zoo without (one night, we were doing a grownups only night). The view was spectacular and not crowded at all. If I were bringing a child, I would definitely do a Wishes FP.

Also, Wishes FP>> MSEP FP - we went to Frontierland and were basically up against the rope for the parade only a few minutes before the parade. Had our Dole Whip floats while we waited.

thank you! we would be so bummed to miss either of these since this is our only night to watch all of the nighttime entertainment.

so if we are going to fp wishes/ctm only and watch MSEP "standby", what would be the best place to watch MSEP so that we could get to wishes fp area the fastest?

Along the parade route on the northern end of Main St. or in the Hub, itself.
Arrive EARLY!

thanks robo! i really appreciate your help!
in that case, i'm wondering if it's worth it to even get the wishes fp. b/c if we have to arrive early for the parade, we might as well stake out a good spot for both the parade and fireworks and be done moving around for the night.

i think its worth it because I haaaaaate staking out a spot and defending it before the fireworks start. I like being able to do other things during MSEP and know that I have a spot when it is time

I have one for our upcoming trip. I agree that it's very annoying to be waiting an hour for a spot and have to defend it, it always happens to us :sad2:. This to me seems more stress free (I hope) I'll update once we are back

If you can get the right spot, yes.

We found it LOVELY. I totally get the not wanting to have that late a FP, but last year we were confused about FP+ anyway, lol. This year we'll be adding more after our initial 3 and not staying for Wishes--but it would be quite a dilemma if we were. It's so glorious after that packed parade to go loll about on the lovely lawn, plenty of space all around... true leisure!
