Is a week enough?

I have always wanted to go to France... I am a French teacher after all!

I am thinking about the possibility of a trip to DLP for my March Break. It's really only one week. I would probably leave on the Friday evening or the Saturday, arriving the next morning. Flights to Europe are usually overnights for us. I would have to leave the following Saturday to give me enough time to rest before going back to school.

I'm not sure where we'd stay (I'd love to stay on property, but it seems so much more expensive than the values at WDW) yet, but is that time do-able, plus maybe give us a little bit of time to see parts of Paris?

Thanks, and I hope to be back soon with real planning!

First of all, we did the same thing this past November during my husband's Thanksgiving Break from school, and it's plenty of time for a visit (you can never see everything ;)). I will tell you this-Disneyland Paris is a bargain for a number of reasons-first, they include a ticket into the park for every day that you are there with your room reservation, and they threw in a free night for us too. We didn't use them all because we wanted to go into Paris, but that's a part of the cost you don't really realize until you get there. Second, the Dining Plan saved us a ton of money-we ate breakfast at the hotel everyday ( it was all you can eat too), and then dinner either in the park (we already had the ticket as mentioned above, so no biggie), or in one of the hotels/Downtown Disney. Finally, you have free concierge service to help you plan trips into Paris--they would lay out days for us, and then all we did was walk to the train station and daytrip it in. I've been to Paris twice and I will tell you, the Disney version was a bargain. The only thing we paid for that was a little bonus, was their version of the Magical Express (it just elminated a headache, IMHO!). You'll have a great time, and I will also say--the security at the Disney resorts is bar none, the best in Paris. Bonne Chance!

I went to DLP this March and we where there for 3 days (2 adults) On the 3rd day we felt we had seen it all and was finished with the parks and the Disney Village. We then spent 4 days in Paris before we returned home.

We stayed on site at Santa Fe hotel. It was not that far from the parks so we walked to the parks and back to the hotel every day.

Wow! Merci! Thanks for the tips. I really would like to stay on Disney property, I've never actually NOT stayed on property in any of my visits.

That's good to know, merci. How diid you like Santa Fe? That's probably the hotel my friend and I would end up at, I think.

There is nothing wrong at all with the Santa Fe as a place to lay your head. The rooms in my experience are clean and warm (v useful in March!) and the beds I'd say are pretty much the comfiest in the resort, plus the rooms have had, or are in the process of a refresh (to a Cars theme!). If you want to stay onsite and are on a budget, I'd rather have a cheaper onsite hotel (which gives you Extra Magic Hours - 2 whole extra hours in the morning!) than a more expensive resort type hotel offsite. Happy happy planning!

I also liked the SF and I think a week gives you a good bit of time to play around with. If you have a look in the Useful info sticky you'll find a link to school holiday dates. The parks will be busier when the UK and French schools are on holidays.
Weekends in DLP also tend to be quite busy and Wednesday aswel as French schools are off on Wednesdays.
Maybe try to do your Paris trips on these days.
I would also make full use of EMH as its normally very quiet.
All the onsite hotels include breakfast (a selection of cold meats, small bread rolls, cheeses, yoghurts, croissants, pain au chocolat, breakfast cereals, juices etc) and the two pricier hotels - The Disneyland Hotel and Hotel New York also include a hot breakfast buffet in the price.

Happy Planning :goodvibes

Oh that sounds lovely! I love the EMH idea for TWO hours! I really hope I can talk my friend into going! We were hoping to go to WDW in November sometime, but it would only be for a few days, (2 really), and the flights are only about $100 more right now to fly to France for that week than to Florida for the 3 nights/2days. You're making me realize that it's much better to head out to DLP!

Thanks for all these tips. I love that breakfast is included. Really that's a great little perk! We'll be travelling on the weekends (except for arriving on Sunday morning probably), but we can skip Wednesday and head in to the city. There are a few must dos for me in Paris, I guess!
