Is a Visa checking account card accepted?

Very new to the Disney experience.We are trying to avoid using our regular visa.My goal is to not spend any money at Disney with credit!I know thats sounds crazy!LOL!We definetely want to have the ability to charge things to our Key to the world card.Does the card on file have to be a traditional card with a credit limit?Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with us!

if you are asking if a "debit card" is accepted. absolutely....but...

it must have the visa/mc logo on it...it has to be a debit check card...then yes you are good.

we have used our for the last couple years at check in and no problemo

Just remember that they might put a hold on that card! So be careful that if they put a hold on it and then you need cash you need the ability to move cash from your savings into that account, or to be able to withdraw from savings, or something. What I'd do instead, if you have a credit card, is give them the card at check-in...but then at check-out PAY the bill with the debit card. You can do that. You can also pay the bill with cash.

I have never had Disney put a hold on my card...I pay for our room in advance and just use it for our meals and souvenirs.

Now car rental companies, yes, they put the hold on.

I know that credit people often believe that being able to go thru life without credit is a myth, but, really, you will have no problem using your debit card at Disney! I've done four Disney trips without a credit card...on site, off site, rental cars, meals, and have had no problems what-so-ever!

We just used a debit card at WL in January and they did not put a hold on it.

I haven't ever had a problem using my visa debit card and no hold has been placed on mine (from Disney at least )

Disney doesn't put a hold on a debit card. They don't even charge the card until you have reached the limit for that hotel. 500.00 for values etc. If you use your debit card as the card on file, (or regular credit card) you can go anytime to the desk and pay for the charges you have already made with your room card.
