Is a one year old too young

My DH and I are currently living in Australia as he is australian. We have decided that in a few months we are going to attempt to get pregnant for the first time. We have been talking about a trip to DW with his family and mine December 2007. Therefore we could have a very young child with us. What has been others experience with really young children at the parks. Is it worth it??

We took my DS(now 2) on his first trip to WDW when he was 11 months. Even though he does not remember it, I have wonderful memories! It was great to see him interact with the characters! We had a blast! To this day he still likes to look at the pictures of "baby Jacob and Mickey" I would say to go for it! You can always go again when your child is older.

I say do it! We took our son who was 22 months and our 8 month old daughter last September. We have already booked another trip! It was so fun with our babies. It is probably more work with little ones, but it is truly worth it. Although they wont remember that first trip, my husband and I will and we still talk about it. It is so fun watching everything through their eyes. We had a direct flight though that was only 2 hours...how long would your flight be?

We took our DD at 13 months and she had a blast. She napped in the stroller when she felt the need to sleep and she and I even slept on some rides. We took a nice nap on "The Great Movie Ride" (I think that is what it is called) We also slept on the ride in Epcot with Ellen in it. Momma was just as tired as she was!!!! She ate well and never once got fussy. As soon as we got to our room we gave both the girls a bath and within 10 minutes of getting them in their PJ's they were out like a light..

Thanks for the advice, I think we will go for it. My DH and I absolutely adore DW and I think it will be great to share it with our child even if they will not remember it.

Traci - OUr flight from Australia is about 20 hours to get to Orlando. My family is in Portland, Or. so we would stop there first.

Keep in mind you don't know how long it might take to get pregnant. If it takes a while you could be 9 months and not able to fly in Dec 2007. Of course, you have plenty of time to book after you get pregnant or change your dates.

DS was 12 months when he went and he had a blast!

He went on every ride he could for his age and even though he doesn't remember, we have lots of pictures and memories.

This is just what I was going to post. Some women have no problems, but others like myself dont end up getting pg as planned. DS 1 was 6 months later than "planned" and DS2 was 5 months earlier than "planned". Sometimes our plans aren't "our" plans. I do think you should wait to make reservations until you are pg and know that the pgy wont effect your trip, especially with a long plane ride. And I do hope you are one of the lucky ones! Babydust to you!!

That being said... LOL!!

We took DS1 when he was 20 months old and he had a blast. We took DS2 for the first time when he was 2 1/2 months old. He is such an easygoing baby that he was no trouble at all. In fact he was the easiest child out of all 4 of them! (ages 11, 10, 2 1/2, and infant!)

My sister has taken her children at every age from 4 months on up to 4 years and had great experiences.

we took ds for his 1st bday ... after MANY yucky comments from lots of people (why take him so young, etc) we decided our motto was: He won't remember, but we will never forget that 1st trip!

We took our now 2 year old when she was
3 months old and again when she 15 months old. Take lots of pictures and if you have a video camera, keep it glued to your palm!! That way your little one will remember. We watch our home movies over and over..our now 8 and 11 year old both had their first trips when they were about 1 1/2 .. they watch these movies over and over to relive the magic and remember how cute they were when they were so little..along with how scared they were of some characters too!!!

Took a 14 month old, a three year old and an 8 year old at Christmas time. (We had a group of 13 people total)

Although, he probably won't remember it, the rest of us will...with pictures that we took as well as the journals we penned. Thru the pictures he will see himself as he was then. I'm sure he will be there in the future.

Children usually are not the problem -- the parents and how they handle thier children are -- I am sure you will be fine. Here are the three of them clowning around
