Is a Dole Whip...

the soft serve ice cream that you get at that counter across from the Jungle Cruise ride in MK? I ordered pineapple juice(that was warm) from that counter while dh got soft serve ice cream. I thought he just got ice cream, but he said it was a Dole whip. I thought the Dole whip was a pineapple slushie thingy?

The Dole Whip is like soft serve ice cream. The Dole Float is the Whip with Pineapple Juice.

A Dole Whip is just the pineapple soft serve(comes in a cup) and a Dole Whip Float is the pineapple soft serve with pineapple juice(comes in a tall clear glass).

The Dole Whips they sell there are in three flavors: pineapple, vanilla and chocolate. They can make a float with it by putting it in the juice.

We missed this when we were they and having read so much about it on the Disboard it will be our first stop when we return .

Don't expect too much--I found the pineapple flavor to be very bland. But lots of people looooove it, so hopefully you will, too.

We LOVE the pineapple float! The juice gives the Dole Whip much better flavor.

At WDW, it's also at Captain Cook's in the Polynesian. Dole Whips are sold many places across the country, but there's not really a list I could find anywhere.

I love the dole whips, it isnt a trip without one btu 3 years ago i was so sick I didn't even have one so when I go back this Christmas I will have to make up for that and have a two of them

I don't believe that they sell soda there. I would think that soda is much sweeter since it has so much high fructose corn syrup. The pineapple juice is unsweetened and actually not as sweet as the whip.

When I had a Dole Whip float, the pineapple juice I had was warm, too, which was a real bummer.

I have since read here on the DIS that sometimes in the hotter/busier times, the juice doesn't have enough time to get cool in the machine before it's served. It's supposed to be chilled, though, which would make it much better.

Yep, you're right that the juice doesn't get enough time to cool sometimes. At the start of the day they have 4+ containers of juice in the fridge that were prepared the night before. Throughout the day it gets so crazy that sometimes people don't realize they're low on juice so the people back at the main kitchen must get more containers ready and the juice cans just sit out at room temperature.

Just wanted to say, they definitely have Sprite at the Dole Whip stand.

But I'm afraid I'm not a dole whip fan - I'm a Mbar one - they rule!
