Is a 24 hour MK day coming for leap year?

It's been questioned before. If it is happening I'm surprised they haven't said anything yet with February 29th like a month and a half away now.
Or they could spring up with something like, "Last Minute Leap Year Magic". That week I believe is the start of Spring Breaks for some colleges, so that could encourage a quick jaunt over by some kids from the beaches.

Did CP have a 24 Hour Menu last year? It's the only one I can find with that listed in MDE. I would think it's either leftover from last year, or put up as a mistake if there is indeed a 24 hour event this year. I'd like a 24 hour event this year since I just got my first AP, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm going with someone coded it as 2/29 and not 2/29/12 so when a 2/29 in 2016 rolled up the tag caused it to show up.
At least until there are more indicators somewhere.
Also, this is only on the app. The web version does not have this

If it was the other way around, and on the website not the app, I'd tend to agree with you.

Was the MDE app around in 2012?

I have no idea.

I honestly hope they do have something.
We will be there.
But until I see something more I'm not expecting anything

We will be there too and I've been waiting to hear something about this to finalize my plans for the day. I have pretty much given up hope at this point.

We will be disembarking from a cruise that Friday... might have to tack on a few extra days

The data would pull from the same database regardless.
One would think. In the real world, that's how they would design things. But we are talking Disney IT here. They do not always use the most logical design choices (I say Goofy is in charge). The fact is, the website does not show the 24 Hour Day menu option and the app does. So they must have the database different

Not necessarily no and really that's quite unlikely. Well, if we're being literal it may well be a different database instance. On their scale they would likely have to run multiple servers, but the core data would be the same just automatically replicated. Combining Disney's separate systems was a large part of the whole purpose of the MyMagic+ investment.

Two likely explanations:

- As suggested earlier the reason for the difference is down to the coding of how dates are handled. That isn't stored in the database, it's in the app or website.
- The replication is faulty/slow (not uncommon) and the website is using the updated data while the app still reflects and older incorrect data set.

When I was down over Christmas week - I heard that they are not doing anything this year for Leap Year as far as a 24 hour event - and unofficially the 24 hour day is going to continue to be Memorial Day Weekend - that Friday - (I was told this with a 'wink wink') - so - nothing 'official' but probably Memorial Weekend Friday - :)

I was crossing my fingers for then, I"ll just miss being in town for leap day but I will be in town for start of summer if they do it then.. :)

I wonder what the percentage was of people who thought they will be there for 24 hours that actually stayed for 24 hours. I love Disney, but there is no way I will stay 24 hours in a park.

We went for the 24 hour day but we didn't ever plan to be there for the full 24 hours. My cousin, the only other person I know who went, did stay the full 24 hours in the park.
