We will be arriving in Orlando on May 1st. We are planning on checking into POR then spending the remainder of the day @ MK. We plan to spend a full day @ MGM Mon., Epcot on Tues. & AK on Wed. Our kids are 9, 12 & 15. Do you think this is enough time in each of the parks? too much time ? Or is there such a thing as "too much time"? We had heard that MK is mostly rides for the younger kids ? So I didn't know if we should spend a whole day there or not. :confused3

when we go to disney -- 1 day for each park

I recommend 2 days for Epcot to really enjoy it and all it has to offer.
MGM--because of the timing of the shows and the park layout--never in one day.
AK and MK can be done in one day--depending upon crowds and hours.

We always spend 2 days at MK--the favorite with 2 days at Epcot--coming in second

Im planning on about 2 full days at MGM, AK & MK
and about 4 full days at EpCot

these full days are actually 1/2 day increments but thats what their totals will average

So are you saying that MGM would be 2 or more days? We are staying for 6 nights/7days, but wanted to go to SeaWorld, Blizzard Beach & Cocoa Beach. Are we not going to have enough time for all of that? I suppose we could skip BB. :confused3 Could we possibly combine AK & MK for 1 day or did you mean they would take 1 day each? Should we just skip AK & MK ? ? :confused3

It's definitely possible to see each park in one day. Just plan on spending the entire day there if you want to move at a relaxing speed. You could finish the parks in less time, but you would miss a lot of features they have to offer. Have fun! :cool1:

Hi O2go2disny,

You can't go to WDW and skip the MK!!!!!!!!!!!

You can probably accomplish everything you want, but you will be rushing and you won't be able to see everything. I don't think you will get the true feel of the parks.

1st) there is never enough time at WDW, but one day at each park is doable. (much better then trying to do it all in 3 days.) Really a full week is good with doing one day at each park and then going back to what people like the best to do again, or what they didn't get enough done at. Also 2 days for Epcot is really good, (it is such a big place.)

Ok, If you aren't doing EMH aovid them. If you can park hop, do so. Especailly on the day you do AK, it cothes so early.

We will be there the same time as you (but we get to PORS on April 29th, and head over to VB on May 3rd.)

Keep in mind there are some specail events planed for the May 5th celebration that start on the 4th so factor that into your schdule. Also keep in mind that the paraded and and even the fireworks don't go every night at MK, so plann acordanly if you want to see them. ( I think there insn't any fireworks that Fri, and Sat for grad night MK closes at 7:00.), but you should be good on May 1st.

Maybe we will see you around, we have a 4 year old and an then 9 month old baby.

If the weather is good don't skip BB. It is really fun. Actually your kids (older) might like TL, they have a really cool new water slide.

Also they way the tickets are any days over 3 is not that much more money so you might be able to slpit up some (go to BB during the day and Epcot eveing.)

If you are doing DQ and a water park get the plus option. If you are just doing one water park it is cheaper just to buy a ticket. Also if you get the plus and then the weather isn't that good you kind of feel you have to go to use it (because you paid for it.) My friend felt that way.

AK can be a half a day, but it also can be every enjoyable to take it at a slow place and relax some. However it closes at 5:00 so unless you go on an EMH, it really isn't a full day. (you can do DTD that night or something else.)

Oh and I agree, you can't go to WDW and skip MK, at least for part of the day! :cheer2:

No, honestly it's not enough time. Unless you want to rush around and miss the little things.

MK is not just rides for little kids. Mickeys ToonTown area is for little kids, everything else is all ages. There are many rides (Space, Splash and Thunder Mountains for example) that little ones can't even ride due to height restrictions.

Even with FP, lines can be long. May is an average crowd time, but may be busier this year due to the celebrations.

Animal Kingdom can not be done in half a day. Not if you want to see and do everything. If you just want to hit the highlights, maybe. But if you want to see all the shows, walk all the animal trails, and ride the rides, you'll need at least a full day.

Epcot is huge. There is a lot to see and do. I often go back to Epcot when I have free time to explore more pavillions in the WS.

MGM, if you wanted to see and do everything you MIGHT be able to make that happen in one day if you do EMH and really stick to a schedule. MGM is much smaller than the other parks. However, keep in mind, some rides and shows take a long time.

If you are willing to skip things like shows and parades and you really go commando style, you might be able to hit the highlights.

My best advice is pick the attractions you really want to see and do those first.

We were able to stay in parks from opening to closing in August, we did almost EVERYTHING! Of course there were some things we missed which we will be doing this time. We did 1 day in every park however MK took 1 1/2 days for us. Again that is with no breaks back to the hotel for swimming or naps and also no character meals, quick lunch at counter service and very very early breakfast to be at the park when they opened. Grabbing a late dinner again at counter service or grabbing a snack and then dinner when the park finally closed back in our room.

You might want to buy Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. They have great touring schedules for 1 day up to 2 days. You might want to consider it.

I know people who just went and they said 1 day for each park.
They were all adults, so I don't know how it is with kids who might want to do stuff multiple times.

And everyone I know went from 9AM to 9PM and saw everything. One person walked around MK twice.

Also I made a post once about what is 1 day mean... People considered going to the park for 3 hours in the morning, going hotel to nap or pool for all the afternoon, and goign back to the park for another 3 hours was one day. That's 6 hours to me . If the park is open 12 hours that's 1/2 day not a full day.

Well obviously you can spend as much time or as little time in each park as you wish but you have to realize that you will not be able to see as much and you will really have to prioritize which attractions are most important to you. Plan for very long and exhausting days with not much down time if you want to hit lots of attractions. The smaller things will have to be sacrificed. You can still have a great time but it is probably extra important for you to have a "plan of attack" for each park to make sure you get the most of your limited time.

If I only had 3 1/2 park days I would probably split them up as 1/2 day AK, 1/2 day MGM (no shows - just the thrill rides), 1 1/2 days MK and 1 day Epcot or if you really don't like spending more than one day in MK just do 1/2 day, AK, 1 day MGM, 1 day Epcot and 1 day MK.

The only way to see each park in only a day is to hit the main rides and strategic use of FP's, and go from opening to closing at breakneck speed. You will be exhausted and your tempers will be tested. Try 2 days at MK, 2 days at MGM, and a day each for Epcot and AK and you can then say you have been to the "World", then do it all over again:) :rotfl:

At the very least I think you should switch your MK and MGM days. By the time you arrive, check into POR and get to the park you will have lost alot of time and IF you can do MK in one day it really needs to be a full, open to close day. MGM is better for the first day since you can fastpass ToT and RNR and watch the shows while you wait for your window. Some of the first presentations aren't until late morning so if you aren't there when the park opens not as much time is lost.

We always only spend 1/2 day in Animal Kingdom but then again in the two trips we have been to AK we also haven't been able to everything. I have never done Lion king or Tarzan and this trip I plan to spend 2half days there ans I am sure that way we will be able to see evrything. I don't think there is anyway our family could ever do Epcot in 1 day. We usually spend 2+ here. We also spend 2+ at MK. MGM we usually only spend 1/2 day there too !
