Irritations While Out Shopping Yesterday

1. Don't leave your cart in a handicapped parking space. I understand maybe you can't walk very far, but if you can't walk it to the cart corral at least leave it in the blue marks beside the parking space so the next handicapped person can at least park their car without having to get out and move your cart. No, I'm not handicapped and I parked further down in the row but as I was walking to the store I saw this. I did grab the cart and take it in with me.

2. After you have your groceries loaded onto the belt, move out of the way and pull your cart forward so the person behind you can start putting their things on the belt too. And if you refuse to do that, don't give me a dirty look when I'm putting my things on the belt and push your cart a bit so it bumps you.

There was a third irritation, but I have forgotten it now. I know it was about some idiot's driving but that's all I remember. I must be getting old.

If you push my cart into me for any reason you're going to get a dirty look. You may get more than that too.

And if you unload from the front of your cart, take your cart with you when you are done! Just because you no longer need it doesn't mean you can forget about it!

I was beyond annoyed, trust me. Our store has those super-sized carts, so it's next to impossible to unload from the push end - you have to stand in front and get everything from there.

The most annoying part? She had three items! She had a cart for three items that were so important that she had to get them on the conveyor belt immediately and be totally rude about it in the process. The three items? Cat food, toilet paper, and a box of wine.

Patience, seriously. Is that extra 30 - 60 seconds going to really make a difference in the grand scheme of things? Bumping anyone is uncalled for and rude, even if the person is going slow. Do you bump someone's car when they do not accelerate immediately when the light is green too?

Your time isn't more valuable than anyone else's, and if you were behind me in line and did that, you'd definitely get a dirty look.

I mean really, swipe your card, get the check writing process going while they are scanning your items..... but Im impatient like that, my husband tells me to chill.. but still .. LOL

My pet peeve is when people are paid and done and they leave their cart, blocking my way to the register. That gets my goat. I did ask the last woman that did it if she was done with her cart. She reluctantly took it on her way out. Ugh.

I mean really, swipe your card, get the check writing process going while they are scanning your items..... but Im impatient like that, my husband tells me to chill.. but still .. LOL

I agree with this - I always try to get my method of payment out and ready - DH does not and it drives me nutty - he'll stand there and then finally at the end take his wallet out of his pocket - AGHHHH - I guess if this is the biggest problem in our 7 year marriage I should thank my lucky stars!

On the other hand, I do understand that many people are watching the register printout/screen to ensure everything rings up correctly and that may cause them to delay in the payment process.

I feel your pain - I struggle with my level of patience daily! I find the entire grocery store experience frustrating - clueless people blocking the aisles with carts, rude people who simply don't care that they are being inconsiderate, violators of personal space - can you step back an inch - geez! I don't like the grocery shopping, check out, loading into car, carrying into the house or putting it all away at home....

I feel your pain - I struggle with my level of patience daily! I find the entire grocery store experience frustrating - clueless people blocking the aisles with carts, rude people who simply don't care that they are being inconsiderate, violators of personal space - can you step back an inch - geez! I don't like the grocery shopping, check out, loading into car, carrying into the house or putting it all away at home....

geez I guess I have some strong grocery shopping feelings...

Its my most hated chore of all! And I probably go in there in a bad mood just because I have to be in there and it goes downhill from there LOL!

Yeah...just leaving the grocery cart there when you are done and can carry the bags without the cart is my pet peeve too. Screams lazy to me.

My biggest pet peeve has to be the person who runs back for 14 items leaving me and the cashier standing there twiddling our thumbs. If you forget something, pay for your order and go back. There was a lady in front of me on Sat who forgot milk, she nicely asked me if I minded if she ran back and got it. I said no, good thing you remembered before you left as I would have remembered on the ride home. I kid you not, she came back and had been in every aisle of the store and STILL HAD NO MILK.

Yeah...my biggest pet peeve at the grocery store.

Don't forget to start putting it away and/or reorganizing your purse in fron of the cc machine!
