Irritated at time change

I booked my reservation for the coveted 8am spot for CRT. Woke up super early (on a weekday). Now, less than a month away from my trip and WDW changed the times and MK opens at 8am. They've been doing this a lot lately, but when I made my reservation back in September, it still wasn't that common or I wouldn't have thought of it. I guess I'll keep looking for later reservations, like a 10:30 breakfast or lunch. I would cancel outright but my daughter, who is 8 has her heart set on eating at the castle.

I know that we'll still have a great time no matter what. I shouldn't obsess about my touring plans but still...

Is anyone else facing this problem?

We faced the same problem for our trip last December. I spent months looking for a prepark opening ADR for CP since we planned the trip after the 180 mark. About a month before our trip, they changed the opening hours on 12/13 and on to 8am openings. By that time I still did not get the prepark CP that I wanted for the date I wanted which was 12/12. Finally, a week later, I finally got my prepark CP for 12/12 at 8:15am with park opening at 9. I was ecstatic but that feeling was short lived because 2 days later, they changed all opening hours in December to 8am openings. I was beyond frustrated. I really wanted this ADR to get some empty castle pictures. I sent Disney an email and didn't receive a response until about 2 weeks after my initial email was sent. They called my number and I explained to the CM helping me how upset I was that they did this hour change 3 weeks before our trip. The CM understood my frustration and changed our CP reservation to 8am.

On the day that we had our CP reservation, we arrived at MK around 7:20am. We weren't let in until at 7:52am and by then we were rushing like mad men to get our pictures taken before the hoards of people started coming in. We still got a lot done after breakfast before we went back to our hotel around noon.

My point is that after this experience, I wouldn't do another 8am ADR when the park opens at 8. I've learned to book a later time as well as a back up just in case they change the hours again.

I agree. I would make a later reservation or make two and cancel one depending on when the parks open. Of course, I can't follow my own advice since everything for CRT is booked. I'm trying to remain optimistic because I know my kids are going to have a great time no matter what. But you know, the type A personality in me is freaked out by my upended plans!

I'm in the exact same situation. Had pre-park CP & CRT. I changed the CP ressie, but CRT looks impossible. I don't think I'll book pre-park open ressies again. Too frustrating - if we keep CRT we're giving up prime ride time during heavy crowds. Sigh.

I wonder if September has the possiblity of hours changing. Maybe this happens only at peek times?

Yes, they change park times often. Non-peak times can be changed as well. Especially as they start to get influx of FD reservations.
