Irrational Disney fears.

This is me...I have to actually take them out of my pocket and look at them every so often...I am like this at home about locking my door...I have to phisically lock and unlock it several times to feel sure I locked it and same thing with my alarm clock...off and on several time to make sure its set...sad huh....also if I leave the room for any length of time and I left my drink cup in the other room I will have to get a new cup and more drink...not sure when or why this all started

Wow - me too. I am the same way about the door AND my alarm clock. I am also that way about checking the house after I've been gone all day............ :goodvibes

I'm a check-lock person too!! :goodvibes

I'm afraid to go outside for fear that a meteor will fall from the sky and hit me on the head...

Not really....

I'm always super paranoid that I will leave my cell phone or camera on a ride. I wear a cell phone pouch on one side and my point and shoot camera pouch on the other and I always check both pouches as I'm climbing out of ride vehicles...even if I don't take either out on the ride.:confused3

My first ride on SM, as I was getting out of the seat, I noticed my camera had come out of the pouch, didn't lose it beacause the strap had wrapped around the pouch itself....I think it's safe to check in case!

That's me with both Splash and Space Mountain. With Splash, I was always afraid that if I had my hands up during the big drop, my hands would get pierced by the thorns. I was almost 10 when I first went on it and when I went on it at 17 in DL, I still didn't put my hands up. I know they won't, but it still freaks me out. :rotfl:

I have that fear with most coasters, that my head , hands or legs if my feet are dangling will be whacked off.

My other thing with coaster is ( I am 5'2" 115/120 lbs) when they put the bar down over your head/ shoulders and it goes upside down that I will slip out. Then if they are one of the ones that shakes my head around I am afraid after seeing DR. G Medical examiner I will have a brain aneurysm I. DH gets so :rolleyes1 with me , I still go on but wheeww.

i'm much taller than my fiance and when we ride anything with a shared lap bar i fear she's going to slip out...especially on BTMRR!! so i uncomfortably twist me knees out so my legs are as flat as possible and the bar comes down as low as possible. havent lost her yet!

Maybe I'm the only one who has any type of irrational Disney fear... but mine is that I am so afraid of being under a monorail when it passes by. I am paranoid that one day one is just going to zoom off the rail and crash and I'll just happen to be standing underneath it when it does. If a see a monorail coming above me, I get the heck away from that monorail. :sad2:

I'm not an engineer, but it seems to me that if the monorail derails, it will still have some forward motion, so it won't fall directly next to the track.

I have a fear that we arrive to find our reservations have been cancelled and there is no availability at Poly.

I love to raise my hands on coasters...but not on SM.:sad2:

It's dark and I always feel like my hand is going to get whacked on a overhead bar or something. :scared1:

That has always been a fear of mine. Not to mention the top of the drop for Splash Mtn...I have a fear of whacking my hands on the opening before you drop.

I get the tendency to jump out of high places, so when they used to have that gondola ride at DL, I wouldn't ride it because I would want to jump out!

I have that feeling too. Crazy weird feeling as I rationally know I'm NOT going to jump out. I get that feeling when I'm on a coaster (or Splash) like EE where you go slowly up a long, high hill too. When we get to the top I want to jump out for a split second before you go down. It freaks me out every time, but I won't stop riding coasters or splash.

Same here! Ever sence a saw theese guys in frunt of me touch the cealing in the first tunnel!

I'm that way about overpasses on the highway. I get highly irritated if I get stuck in traffic and I have to sit under those. I'm afraid someone will be driving to fast and go right off the edge and land on top of my car. I'm like that with the monrails, too but not as much. I would say getting stuck upside down on RNRC is my irrational Disney fear.

I am deathly afraid of being decapitated or losing a hand/arm on Space Mountain. I even scream at my friends/family "do NOT put your hands up! I said DON'T!" I'm about 5'9" and rode with a guy in my car who was 6'6" and he laughed and said "I'm always fine so you will be too!" but I still kept being afraid! :rotfl:

I also get the feeling to "jump" from high places, and I believe it's related to having a fear of heights. As crazy as that sounds, I've read before that many people with fears of heights will also get the irrational urge to jump from them! And it's so true, at least in my case. I always see myself falling out of Soarin', the ski lift at BB, all that stuff! I know I'm safe, but I still feel that urge too!

Even though I wear Keens and they are strapped on securely, I always fear I will lose my shoes on Soarin!!!

I saw some photos on the Disboards of people stuck on EE (and having to walk down that steep incline!).

It won't stop me from going on EE, but I do have a fairly substantial fear of heights and would hate to have to walk down. Yikes!

I am also very afraid of hitting my hands or head on things on roller coasters. Big Thunder Mountain when you go under some low hanging wood. ESPECIALLY RNR Coaster with the neon signs! I keep my head ducked the whole time!!

I am not scared of roller coasters just roller coasters where you go under things or cant see. Also very scared of Dinosaur!!! I scream so loud in that and hide under my boyfriends arm.

This does not scare me. I have a major fear of heights so you could not pay me enough to go on it anyways. I won't even go on dumbo for fear I will get stuck on one of the elephants while up in the air.

My real fear is arriveing at the resort and upon checkin they have completly lost my reservation. Right now I have an all new fear. Did anyone see the piece on the news where they decided to pat down a 3yr old at airport security. I have 2 special needs kids. I am so afraid that we are going to get to the airport and they are going to pat one of them down and we will end up with a meltdown of disasterous perportions and won't be able to get on the plane.

Whenever my kids are anywhere close to an attraction loading dock or body of water (no matter how small) I always panic that they are going to fall over the safe edge.

It was so bad that when we planned on taking our then 6 month son to Niagara Falls, I had nightmares for weeks before that he fell over the edge!

In Test Track, I am always afraid my car will get stopped in the hot room. I hold my breath in that room, waiting to get through it. I don't mind small spaces but hate feeling trapped somewhere hot. I have no fear of the cold room, though.

Nigh irrational fear of the realistic human animatronics... The ones on Pirates of the Carribean really bug me. I always feel they are looking directly at me. Shades of "Night of the Living Dummy" :rotfl2:
