Me and my family will be sailing on the new ship Disney Fantasy leaving May 4, 2013, I know now that Disney owns Marvel, I'm just wondering since IM3 opens May 3 what's the chances they will be showing it on the new Disney ship? If they did that would be awsome!

Most likely. Marvel Studios released "The Avengers" and that got the full Disney movie treatment on the Wonder, with a midnight premier and everything.

I hope so!! I sail on the Magic May 10th! I love the Iron Man movies! And Robert Downey Jr. ain't bad to look at either:thumbsup2

Was wondering the same thing about the Magic sailing out of Galveston on May 4th?! Let's hope so!!!

Like "The Avengers", "Iron Man 3" was co-produced by Paramount Pictures. Disney purchased the US release rights for these movies from Paramount, so yes it will be available to be shown on-board.

Just FYI, we are on the West Bound Panama Canal leaving Miami on 5/6. Someone in our Disboard group called the cruise line yesterday to see what movies would be playing on the ship and IM3 was NOT listed. Take this information as you will. I do expect that the movie will be playing, but right now, the cruise line is not listing it.

The Great and Powerful Oz was released while we were on the Wonder and it was shown many times on board as a "Premear at sea", could be IM3 will do the same.

I'm sure it's not listed because it hasn't been released yet. After the midnight premiere it will likely be shown.

Oz was produced by Walt Disney Pictures.

Iron Man 3 is a Marvel & Paramount Pictures production. If Disney hadn't purchased the domestic release rights from Paramount, it would not be available to DCL.

Would they have purchased the rights to the Avengers but not Iron Man 3? I don't see how it could possibly be treated any differently from the Avengers.

I know they don't have the rights to the movies regarding certain characters, like Spiderman, because the Spiderman rights are held by Sony.

Based on imdb.com, looks like Disney bought out the domestic theatrical release rights to the remaining movies that Paramount Pictures is co-producing with Marvel.

Hey there is a Facebook page for this sailing if you haven't joined already!

I just hope they do show it, there are no other Disney movies out besides Oz and that's been out for a minute, from what others are saying they showed Avengers on the other ship so I have confidence they'll hav IM3,
