Seriously... there isn't already a thread? I can't find it if there is!

Sooooooooooo... who has seen it? I went with a couple friends last night and the theater was jam-packed.

I loved it. Not quite as much as I loved the first one, but as far as sequels go this was a definite hit in my book. Mickey Rourke is a GOOD bad guy! I missed Terrence Howard as Rhodey. And I can't say enough good things about Robert Downey Jr. I adore him.

And now I'm excited for Thor :thumbsup2

Just got back from it....

I enjoyed it. Robert Downey is just the best.

Was anyone else thinking Epcot?!?!?

Exactly!!! That whole segment was Walt doing the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow! I said that to my DH the second it started playing!

YES! It was so Walt! And the new element that was created from Spaceship Earth?!

We have our granddaughter trained well. As soon as we saw that first scene she turned to us and whispered excitedly "HEY! That's Epcot!" :rotfl:

Totally and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Happily for us it was equal to the first one. I made myself crazy a few days before we went though because I read and believed the reviews. Is it just me or are those reviewers idiots? I should know better than to believe them because more often than not we LOVE the movies they all hate! LOL

A great big YES to the whole Epcot thing! Justin Theroux, the guy who wrote the script, has said that the whole Stark Expo and Howard Stark's "world of tomorrow" were directly drawn from Walt Disney and everyone involved with the film has said that they are huge fans of the World's Fair.

The funny thing is that it was written and filmed before Disney bought Marvel.

On another note... I love that Jon Favreau is actually IN the movie. I love it when the director shows up as a character :thumbsup2

Apparently Tim Robbins was originally pegged to play Howard. I was searching for "Howard Stark" images and kept getting pictures of Robbins. I think John Slattery was a great choice. Not a huge Tim Robbins fan.

I read reviews with a grain of salt. I'm always curious to see what others think, but I put absolutely no stock in them whatsoever!

John Slattery is in the movie? He's great on Mad Men.

Totally thinking EPCOT. My son even said Stark's dad looked a little like Walt.

LOL, I had EXACTLY that thought... funny how Disney fans all think alike.

We went to see the movie today, it was fantastic!

I totally thought Epcot. The old movie they showed was very Disneyish. Hows about the song during the credits? I read somewhere it was written by the same person who wrote the song for the Carousal of Progress.

Yes, it was written by Richard Sherman of the Sherman Brothers who wrote lots and lots of stuff including Small World.

THAT is awesome! I mean, seriously though. If they wanted to simulate a company so huge and well-known and doing things that no other company of their time is doing...of COURSE they are going to look to Disney for inspiration of what that might look like!

The movie was awesome and I want to be Pepper for Halloween!

It was better than I anticipated it to be. I came in with pretty low expectations and it definitely surpassed it.

The only negative is that I think it dragged in some areas.

I saw it on Friday.

I LOVED it. I mean I really really loved it. I do love the original a smidgen more, but this is one of the best sequels I have ever seen.

Whiplash is like my favorite villain. He was so awesome. I was a little annoyed at first by the fact that they combined Whiplash and the Crimson Dynamo, but that was brilliantly done as well.

RDJ is PERFECT for Tony Stark. And I just love the chemistry between Tony and Pepper.

Overall, I thought it was BRILLIANT. I'm currently begging my mother to take me again.

Did you catch Stan Lee's apperance?? Love how they work him into these movies.

And please tell me everybody caught the reference to the next 2 movies to come before The Avengers comes out.

I caught them...but putting them in white so as not to spoil others.

--->I take it you mean the half completed Captain America shield Tony uses to level his particle accelerator and Thor's Hammer after the credits. Made me giddy with excitement and I am not a comic book fan.<---
