IRobot - Roomba: Tell me all about yours???

Love it, love it.... LOVE IT!!!!!!

It is over 3 years old and I still use it 1-3 times per week. It is exceptional on vinyl and hardwood floors, getting up dust & lint that is hard for me to get with a broom. The only maintenance I have had to do is replace the rechargeable battery, which I got at Amazon.com for under $40.

You do need to keep the brush clean and check the filter, but the maintenance is minimal.

If mine dies, I will replace it immediately. It saves me lots of time and effort with my big sweeper.

Cool. I bought one for myself as a birthday gift.... it's putzing around now.... I do notice that the battery does not last long. First night, I had to recharge 3 times. Although today it's been going for over an hour.

I love how it gets below furniture and very hard to reach places!

We've had ours for almost a year. I use it probably once a week on our hardwood floors. Would I buy it again? I'm not sure. I can't use it in certain rooms b/c it bangs into expensive furniture that I am afraid will get nicked up. You have to clean the brushes and empty the container. It can be time consuming- we get a lot of hair in it from me and my 2 dd's with long hair. Also, it cannot get into certain places and I end up sweeping. You still have to pick up things that are too big for it.

However, it is nice to run it in a room and go do something else. You are better off prepping the room and moving chairs and gettting everything off the floor. I still sweep a lot b/c it is faster for me to do that if it is just certain spots that are dirty. I use it if I need the whole room done.

Well, I can see where the cleaning is necessary (to the unit). I love how it goes under furniture, so I don't have to constantly move and replace the pieces.

I have new furniture, and it seems to bump delicately, so I am not concerned with damage.

It's recharging now.... to use later. Wish I had a back up battery.

We've had a couple of them, but what we've found is that the batteries tend to die way too quickly (i.e., refuse to carry a charge). We don't use it anymore.

MIL got us one for christmas last yr- we have used it a few times mostly in the bedrooms upstairs to get under the beds and stuff - I don't think it does a great job- I usually have to go back over things but for a quick pass and under things that you can't or don't move it is good.
