Ok here it goes

I have one of those ipod minis from like four years ago and it isnt working too well for me right now with the battery. So if i get a new whatever i want it to play video and i will download my videos. The thing is that i will have less than 150 songs on the i pod and then all of my video. How many movies and tv shows can i get on there, granted that when i am done that i will take them off temporarily. But what would be the best for me and ipod or a zune. the reason that i am leaning more towards and ipod is one i have all of my songs on itunes and apple is a company that i can trust. Zune i am weary b/c of the toruble that i heard that they had at first. But if i did get a zune would there be a way that i could get all of the music that i already had on itunes and put it on the zune

Thanks adabob

I don't know if it helps but I just got my very first IPOD.

I got the IPOD Touch and it is awesome!

I got the 16gb at Vanns.com. It was 339.00 no tax and no shipping.

I have about 175 songs, 4 tv shows, and 1 movie. I still have around 12 gb left! I probably could have gone with the 8gb.

It has all kind of great applications and WIFI. I can check my mail at the TOUCH of a button! Of course it only works at home or where you can get free wifi.....

Just my two cents because I am a IPOD newbie:thumbsup2

Go with the iPod.

The only people I know that are happy with a Zune have never touched an iPod.

Oh and I know there is a way to convert Zune files so they will play on an iPod, but I am not sure if you can go the other way. File conversion can be tricky.

I'm a Zune person, and I love it. I have one of the 30GB ones, and have tons of music, pics, and video, and still have room to spare.

Kinda OT. Anybody know of any DVD converter software for the Zune. I hate not being able to use my Video function for ANYTHING.

Our son got a Zune for his bday. We did the iPod vs. Zune debate, and ended up with the Zune mainly for financial reasons - the Zune was the 80GB one and was about $150 less than the comparable iPods. The screen is way larger too. He loves it, and has no problems with it.

Actually, I think it's the opposite. The iPod to the Zune is like AOL is to every other internet service provider.

We've had 3 iPods in our household and now we have 3 Zunes. We love the Zunes and they are cheaper. Also, you don't have to deal with iTunes which is such a racket. You can get your music from so many other sources, whereas with the iPod, you are forced to us iTunes.

That is absolutely false. You are not forced to use iTunes. Besides getting songs off of CDs, there are other online stores that you can choose from. The biggest non-iTunes store would be Amazon, which sells mp3's that are very much compatible with all iPods.

I agree. I wanted to replace my old ipod mini a few months ago, and went with the zune because I thought it was both cheaper and cuter. Ugh--using it was so counterintuitive and nothing seemed to work right. I exchanged it at Best Buy within 24 hours for a new ipod mini.

And it is completely false that you have to buy music off of iTunes for your ipod. I've never bought anything at itunes and my ipod works just fine.
