I heard the new iphone is coming out Oct 4 but not the itouch. Does anyone know for sure? Is the 16gb itouch easy to find? I still can't decide which size to get altho I am leaning toward the 8gb based on what you all have been saying it can hold.

The 16g ipod touch was a 2nd generation which came out Sept 2008.

The currenty version is a 4th generation and available in 8gb, 32gb and 64gb. If there is a new one, we will have to wait and see what if anything is announced.

I have a 4th gen 8g I touch and love it and used it all the time tell I got my new phone in may which is a samsung vibrint and that dose all the things the touch dose and more. Now i dont use my i touch that much but still use i tunes as i have a mac book and love it. I love mac period.

phone app we have r Skype and text free w phone. The ipod is assignd a number and my 12yo uses it to txt her friends, I have older version no camera and my 3 kids all use it.

i was hoping to score okdest a touchpad for xmas but that looks unlikely.but ut also has no camera.

my only concern is internet. You either allow access or block,

I've also pre-ordered the kindle fire [just in case] and am so excited now that they've announced the free library use for amazon prime members...my oldest DD will love it and it will be less than the touch!

My 12-year old DD loved her iPod Touch. She used her own money to buy a 32GB in February to hold all her music and movies. Sadly, she left it on a plane back in September and the person who found it kept it for themselves . So, we too are "in the market" for a new one. She's limping along with my old iPhone 3g but the wireless isn't working which is a PITB. There were a bunch of refurbished 32GBs on Woot for $229ish RIGHT when we came home, but we were still holding out that the person who found a child's iPod with a Justin Bieber skin was honest.

The 8GBs are around $199 now on Amazon (free shipping, no sales tax) and I am thinking that might be an option with the whole iCloud thing. My friend syncs up her iPhone 4 to the iCloud now and she says that it cut down the space used on her phone by half. My only concern is that my DD isn't always near wi-fi and how do you access your stuff if you can't get to the Cloud?

My DS8 (9 in Jan) is desparate for an Ipod and it is the internet that holds me back. I do not want internet/youtube/safari behind closed doors. Computers are front and center in the living room in our house. How do I block internet without blocking apps, etc? Is there any way to block Youtube, but not Netflix streaming?
I guess I could swtich internet on during the day for play in the living room, but turn it off so he can watch/play stored stuff in his room?
Being a parent is hard with all this technology!

I just printed out 2 coupons off of target.com for 10% off Apple iPod. The expiration date is 11/26/11, which is the Saturday after BF. So that tells me they are not having a BF deal on them, but $20 off is a good thing! The MSRP for 4th gen is $199.

Another thing is w/ Target you have 90 days to return it, so if you find a better price somewhere else just return it w/in that window, and it's all good! I think that is going to be my strategy. We're less than 60 days out from Christmas and Hannukah. Yikes!

Can you explain the cloud to me? For some reason I'm thinking it works like how you store your pictures out on the internet w/snapfish or winkflash. Is it that same concept w/your music, so you could access it from any computer? Thanks
