Ipod Touch at Costco

I am planning on getting my DS the Ipod Touch for his b-day. I was at Costco tonight and saw the 8gb Touch for for $178.99. That's $20 cheaper than the Apple store! Has anyone ever bought one at Costco? Do you think it would be OK? I don't see any reason it wouldn't but I was a little hestitant getting it tonight.

I buy all kinds of electronics from Sam's and have never had a problem with them. Sam's has a 90 day return policy like Walmart.

Wish we had a Costco.

I purchased my iPod Nano at Costco, and haven't had one problem with it!

I did buy an insurance policy on it through Apple with no problems.

I bought a 32gb Touch a year ago and no problems. Costco has a great return policy, so if you have a problem they are easy to deal with. Don't forget to pick up the $60 Apple giftcards for $55

Yup, got my 1st generation 32GB iPod Touch at Costco 2 years ago and never had a problem. The have a great 1 800 customer service line for electronics as well as their great return policy. I would never hesitate to buy anything from Costco.

I would have no problem buying electronics at Costco! Although we are shopping for the Itouch and we need to use a Best Buy gift card to buy it. Best Buy's price is $184 so not too much over Costco's price.

I am wondering what everyone has done about the protection plan? What does it cover like dropping or water damage??

FYI Amazon has 16GB Itouch for $194 - it's very good used condition. Edit to add - Looking over this used one again I find that it is the 1st generation and does not have a speaker. Think we'll just spring for a new one.

If you can swing a little more $$, try to get one that is bigger than the 8GB. I have one movie, some songs (maybe 100 or so) and a bunch of apps (they're addicting. Luckily I stick to mostly the free ones)...and I'm about to the 8gb point. If I got around to putting more songs on it, I'd run out of space on a 8GB

The Apple store will always be the most expensive option. Costco, Amazon, NewEgg, they are almost always cheaper.

My DH just bought me one for my birthday this month from Costco. It's perfect and he got a great deal!
