ipod touch 5th Generation?

What rumors are out there as to what the 5th Gen ipod touch will have that the 4th doesn't have?

I have put off buying one but really don't want to wait until Sept to purchase.

What will I be missing out on if I buy now?

I havent heard anything yet...I owned a 2G, and now have a 4G, which i love...if i could change one thing, it would be that it had a better camera. I actually think the camera they have put on it is a joke. The front facing seems ok, but back facing is awful

I am waiting to see i what the new ipad has...i have almost enough airmiles to get one, so it will be free , but like you, i dont want to wait unless it is a much better upgrade!

njsweetP...hi there...i am in canada, and i collect airmiles at different retailers and with my mastercard. I believe airmiles are canadian, but am not 100 %...Last week i spent 116 dollars at our safeway and got 378 airmiles....if i wanted to cash out, as an example, that almost gets me 5 -$10 starbuck cards...for us, airmiles are incredible, i have used mine on all 4 of our trips for disney passes..I LOVE my airmiles, we can use them for so many things and add up quickly...(i bought my ereader in the fall with miles i cashed out for giftcards)....

Wow, that sounds great! I don't think we have anything like that - sounds like

But how many airmiles do you need to rack up to get an ipad? Or the better question is: How much do you have to SPEND to get enough points for a $500 ipad?

DawnM-the ipad i am looking at getting is the 64GB wifi, which, in canada on the apple site is 749 dollars...it is 7500 airmiles or 5500 and 250 dollars...I get the majority of my airmiles through my regular grocery shopping, so i figure i collect for what i would spend anyway....It is a lot of airmiles to get one, but better than spending actual cash

This week, i will spend about 120 again on groceries at safeway and get about 300 airmiles, so in two weeks that means i got almost 700 airmiles...so 240 on groceries is about a $90 cash equivalent to my ipad....cant beat that! We use a mastercard also and we put everything on it(gas, groceries, bills, ortho payments,etc) and pay it in full every month and average 150-300 a month in airmiles on that...and just applied for a american express which will give me more airmiles than the mastercard PLUS 1000 just for the first time i use it which is another $100 dollar cash equivalent towards my ipad....

We actually do the Disney Chase Visa and get dollars towards our Disney trips.

So far that has worked out great for us.

I also just applied for a Discover card which will give us a $100 bonus amount and 5% off all Apple.com purchases on top of my educator's discount.

No, i wish it was $100 per airmile...At safeway, they do bonuses which is where they add up...lately, for every 100, you get 150 which is close to $20 cash...then when buy certain products, you get bonuses...an example, last week for 2 purex toilet papers, i got 40 airmiles......they will put on the large boxes of cereal for 6 or 7 dollars and will put a buy 5, get 100...some trips you can get 400 or 500 airmiles for just your regular groceries...lots of times they put products on i wont use so i dont buy...last week they had the lasagna we like on as a "buy 2, get 100" so i grabbed that too...I try not to buy toilet paper unless there are airmiles! and stock up when they do...

We dont get cash back, they have a huge assortment of stuff from gift cards, to ski passes, to electronics to disneyworld and disneyland passes...we have dont trips where i dont have to buy any passes or only 1 for our family...

Right now i am spending them because my youngest dd is going to england for soccer this year, and my my oldest dd in college and my ds gradding, there is no trip for us to disney this year ...our last trip was actually almost 2 years ago, which was my 40th and my dd grad! Next year i want go, so will need to save 8500 airmiles for our 5 day passes for our family of5!!!!

Oh, I meant spend $100 and get one airmile....but I see airmiles don't equate with dollar amounts.....so you spent $150 and got $20? That is a LOT! I don't know of any CC that gives over 15% return.

I get 1% unless there is a promotion for 5% of some sort. So, if I spend $150, I get $1.50

Ok, so a friend of mine has a 3rd generation and is offering to sell it to me. If the camera is so bad, should I try one without a camera, or should I go ahead and get the 4G.

Hi dawn, while the camera isn't good it does take surprisingly good video and i i Have used the front camera to skype! I think the screen is also alot better and it has a built in mic! I am glad I have the 4G, I just wish the camera was a little better!

As for my airmiles, it is an actual "reward" card only! I do also collect them through my MasterCard, but my airmiles card i just show at sponsors!

Thanks. I think I will hold off and order a 4th generation. I did apply for (and am waiting for) a Discover card that will give me $100 bonus money for spending $500, plus it offers 5% back on on purchases on Apple.com.

It should get here today or tomorrow.

I need a new desktop Apple as well, but want to order that during the education summer deal and get a free ipod. I thought of waiting and just getting an ipod then, but honestly, I need one before June, so I will order now and either sell the free one or let my oldest child have that one.
