iPod Speaker Dock - know a good deal?

I purchased this alarm clock speaker dock for our daughter only because I was able to get it for $70. She needed an alarm clock in her bedroom and a way of listening to music from her iPod. (It's a christmas gift)

However, I would also like to purchase a small portable speaker dock. DD wants to be able to bring a speaker dock & her iPod to friends' houses. That one is NOT leaving her bedroom.

I made the mistake of ordering this iHome only to find out, when it arrived today, that it is not iPod dockable. It also doesn't look like it will hold the iPod very securely. The way it is packaged, if I open it - I will not be able to return it. So I can't try it out. That was disappointing to discover.

Because the speaker dock will travel to various houses, go outside in the summer, etc - I don't want to spend a lot. I can't seem to find a reasonable priced one for a young teen.

Any ideas?

I got one for my DH at Family Dollar a couple Christmasses ago. It was $20, GPX brand, I think. It works fine, but you have to take the case/cover off an iPod touch for it to fit.

I bought one at Wal-Mart a few years ago. I believe the brand is Onn or something like that. It was under $30 and has a plug in or battery power. Small unit but great speakers as I have it in the converted garage and it's over in one corner and we can still hear it over in the opposite side of the room.

not sure of your Location but Kohls sells some Ipod/iphone speakers, Meijer ( if located in Midwest) has some reasonable priced ones. Also Bed, bath and Beyond has one I like plus you can use coupon. THose are just some suggestions I have.
