ipod Question

Since I won my ipod here, I also consider this my technical support site. :) So, I have an ipod Touch. I use it mostly for the internet and games so I know the battery life is not as good. However, I can use it for 30 minutes or so and then turn it off. When I turn it on again, the battery is at 20% and when I had it on before it had a full battery life. Does anyone know what I am doing that is causing the battery to drain when it's not turned on?

I have the screen brightness at a low setting, and I turn off the WiFi feature when I am not using it. Both of these things combined with putting the screen to sleep (pressing the button on the top left-hand corner of the iPod) when I am listening to music or a podcast, seem to conserve a lot of energy.

Sometimes the battery level indicator will vary (go up and down randomly) and will not display the correct amount of energy left. However, if your iPod's battery is only at 20% and goes down from there, you may want to give Apple tech support a call at 1-800-APL-CARE. If there is a problem with the battery not holding a charge, it is better to get it fixed sooner than later (within 1 year of ownership) to avoid any costly fees.

Hope that helps and the issue is resolved soon! :)

Thanks. That was very helpful. The Touch did not come with any directions, and you've just taught me something. I've never turned it off. I've been putting it on stand-by. I didn't realize that I wasn't turning it off. Thanks for your help.

and sometimes ya do get a lousy battery... if turning stuff off doesn't help, find the nearest apple store.
