I'm so sorry to be starting a thread about help with all the other threads going. I installed and then reinstalled all the stuff to download. I uploaded the cd and then picked a few songs from the Itunes store. Okay so then I start the download to my IPOD and the next thing I know instead of the 23 songs I had a 121 songs downloaded. I didn't even pick these songs! It including Harry Belefonate, Limp Bizkit, Chuck Berry and a song called no lie now Hooray for ****ies. Not really my cup of tea :rotfl:

My question is: what the heck did I do to get all these weird songs on there? How do I keep it from happening again?!??! TIA

Sounds to me like you some how downloaded all the songs in your Itunes library. Compare with whats in the main Itunes library and whats on your Ipod.

those songs weren't in my library. Today was the first time I've even touched my Ipod and I've had it a month. I didn't have an Itunes acct or anything until today. I don't know how that stuff could have gotten there. Thats my question I guess. How do I stop this from happening again?

Um, that shouldn't happen.

Sounds like the iPod you were sold has been used before and not properly erased...

Edited..

To stop the automatic updating of your iPod, iPod nano, or iPod mini with all the songs in your library,

First connect your iPod to your computer.
When it appears in the Source list, choose Edit > Preferences and click the iPod tab.
Click the Music tab and make sure "Automatically update all songs and playlists" is NOT selected.

thank you for all your help. Matt sent me this as a present and I've been a bit intimidated to even touch it and I hurt his feelings that I haven't so I was trying to today lol. It's brand new straight from Apple. Im still trying to figure out how the songs got in my library though. thank you again

nothing is Brand New they might be tested they might be a return to stock and sent back as new but it does sound like you just have some additional songs on there.
Good luck getting them off it sould be no problem.

No problem. Glad to be of help.
hmmm strange about those songs though.

Oh here is how to delete a song from your Ipod:

To delete a song or other item from your iPod, iPod nano, or iPod mini, first make sure the player is set up to allow you to copy songs manually (in the iPod pane of iTunes Preferences). Then select the player in the Source list, select the song or other item you want to delete, and press the Delete key.

Could those songs have been on your computer to begin with? I know when I installed itunes it imported any song on my computer....including a bunch my lovely brother had on there.

Otherwise, it sounds like the others are correct....Apple didn't properly wipe the Nano before reselling.

Can Apple sell an Ipod new if its been used?? How does that work? I didn't have any songs saved on my computer or the itunes library. Like I said I really don't know what Im doing just stumbling alone but I think I would know if I chose a song by Emiem or Beethoven.

Yes they can every item must be tested to make sure it plays and downloads thats why you have such a varity on yours it just didn't get erased .I'm suprised it got by because thats 1 of the automated test these things go through now.

Yours may have been 1 that was pulled from line for more test (Random) This keep up the quality don't be concerned you might find some free songs you like.
