Why should I pay $249 for a 4GB NANO when for about $50 more I can get a 20GB Ipod that pays videos? Why does Apple sell the nano for so much.....I know is much smaller but arent you afraid of lossing it or braking something so small and skinny? What am I paying so much for just the size?

The truth - because you'd be making a fashion statement! I wouldn't waste my money on that flimsy thing. But people will spend that much because they think it's cool. There's been lots of complaints of the screen on the Nano breaking. I'd spend the $50 extra and get the nicer, more durable one.

Well, it depends on what you use it for. I own a couple of them for different reasons. Mostly because I'm an Apple fan(and stockholder :rolleyes1 ) but also because I use them for the gym, travel, etc... When they first came out with the iPod, I had to have it. Right there was my first purchase. Then, they came out with the Mini iPod so I bought that one to use for the gym. Then, I got the Shuffle because it's super light and small. So, this replaced the Mini when I go to the gym. I haven't bought the Nano yet but I really want to. I still have the original iPod but I gave the Mini to my brother.

So, again, it comes down to what you use it for... Either way, thanks for buying an Apple product and helping my stocks! :goodvibes

Because a nano is a flash drive, and a regular iPod is a hard drive. If you drop the nano, not much will happen (for people who are extremely clumsy like me) but if you drop the iPod, then it could/will break, that's why I bought the shuffle, also a flash drive.

Personally, if I were buying, I would buy the 20GB. We just bought iPods for our boys for their 12th and 15th birthdays. The older son chose the regular iPod and the younger one the nano. Fits with their personalities--the older one is more practical and doesn't care as much about the size (he doesn't jog or use it in an activity where the size would matter) and the younger one is more trendy and like the newest and "best" stuff (whatever best would be to a 12yo). My 5yo is already talking about the iPod that he would want...I don't think so for quite a few years! :rotfl:

Where else could he put all the disney theme songs?
:)

I have heard the nano breaks easier but of course the flash drive is good. It depends, I would get the bigger better one personaly.

Actually Disney does make one (not sure if it's actually Disney or made for Disney). It comes loaded with Disney music, of course. My DH actually suggested getting one for our youngest.

Yes, be careful about dropping the iPod. My DD had had hers for almost a year and it stopped working. The guy at the Apple store gave her the runaround and told her it would not be covered under warranty because it had been dropped. She did not remember dropping it, but there was a little dent on it so he was assuming. Eventually she contacted Apple and she had to pay to return it, with the hope that they would fix it and it would be under warranty. About a week or so later she got a nice, shiny replacement, complete with her engraving. She was glad she spent the $30 or so for shipping.

Wow. Ive heard of that, That would be a great one for a younster.

my mom just bought me the 20 g over the 4g nano...because i like disney music...and i will have it on there and i will be blasting it!

now for this one

Ipod is phasing out the 20 and cut the mini

now the dock only works for the 20g

so they are phasing that out too

but they are making dock adaptors for the nano and shuffle and 30/60.

What genius came up with that one???
