Ipod Engraving Ideas

I just bought my DD10 a green nano for Christmas. She loves all things Wicked and Wizard of Oz, so I put "This is Wicked!" and her name on it - I think she'll like it and not think I'm a goof.........

Our son turned 13 the day after Thanksgiving. We put "Put your sister's Ipod down, NOW!" on it. His sister is 16, and got her ipod mini at 13. Yes, many fights over whose it is (her, not your's) and if you don't want your brother to touch it, don't leave it out, etc.

If it were up to me, I would have engraved, "This is the only way you can carry a tune."

Mine says:

DH's new iPod Touch says

"Pooks' Pod From His Loving Wifey"

We orderd one with her name and Christmas 2008. We considered other things but simple made sense for the simple reason she will be using it through out her teen years.

Engraving your iPod is a sweet idea but I just read on another site that Apple and other venders encourage engraving because that makes them non returnable. Sony estimates that free engraving saved them a million bucks in returns:

I ordered one for my DD. I put Merry Christmas and her full name on the first line. THe second says "Is this one big enough?" because it's the 16G to replace her 1st generation 2G Nano. Inside joke. On my DH's I put his name nad then Daddys Not so Puny iPod. Because the kids were teasing him about his puny (non-iPod) mp3 player!

I steered away from the stuff that would have made me cringe as a teen and put her name on the top and a reflection of her latest obsession--secretly a vampire under that. It turned out great and I'm pretty certain she will love it.

The first Nano I bought DD was ordered direct from Apple. It had problems, and I was able to return it under warranty with no difficulties. The replacement arrived promptly, and was engraved just as the first was.

It doesn't void the warranty it just makes it non returnable as a just cause I don't want this or just cause I'd like my money back.

My Mom got a red ipod for my brother, Since he is a HUGE Phillies fan, she has Phillies 2008 World Champions engraved on it along with his initials. It is absolutely perfect for him!

I was tempted to go cutesy or trendy, but since I don't plan on replacing DD's ipod for many years, if ever...
I just put:

My Tunes
DD's name

Engraving doesn't void the warranty or make it unreturnable if there's something wrong with it. They won't take an engraved ipod back just because you changed your mind though, but isn't their return policy pretty strict anyway?. Engraving might make it a bit harder to resell, but we've never done that with an ipod anyway. And I agree that engraving doesn't deter ipod thiefs, unfortunately. My oldest had her name on hers and someone still stole it.

On my eldest DD's (12) Nano, I had her initials engraved on it. This Christmas we are upgrading her to an Ipod Touch and I went with initials again. Since all three of my DDs have the same initials, the Nano will be passed down to DD (7).

amlf is our code for "All My Love Forever"

When I purchased my kids nanos I had there initials engraved so that they wouldn't get mixed up with there friends nanos.
