IPod and 11 yr old ????

My ds is turning 11 and has requested an ipod touch for his birthday - dosnt seem that long ago he was requesting thomas the tank
I know nothing about ipods and hope that some of u will know wether its a good idea or not i know its an impressive piece of kit but for an 11 yr old ??
I am a little bit nervous at spending this kind of money on something that will be well out of his league - what do u guys think??

My 10 year old girl is always asking to use my iPod Touch and when I let her she gets on OK with it.

I would say that your son would be able to use it just fine but he may need your help with setting up and syncing the audio, video and apps. Make sure you have the only password for the iTunes account tho or he may go on a spending spree at the iTunes Store

My ds (3) is always pinching my iphone, he can use the Apps etc better than me! I reckon it would be the perfect gift, you could get some good audio books for it too
