Did you recently update to iOS 18? Was the latest MDE version listed as compatible with iOS 18? I haven’t done the update yet, and I am not having any issues.

It is ios18, but other phone is ios18 and running fine.
Is the malfunctioning phone one of the older ones or a fairly recent one? I remember having issues with MDE when my older phone was underpowered. In fact there were some times the phone told me to downgrade back to a previous version of MDE because it couldn’t handle the most current version. Perhaps there is a bug specific to certain models, like the issues the new M4 iPads are having with iPADOS 18.

If both phones are the same model, I would start by contacting Disney’s IT to see if they have a solution.

When you upgraded the 15, were there any intermediary updates that were skipped?

I have been reading the forums on macrumors to see what experiences people are having with both the iPhone and iPad updates. I usually wait a week or two until the dust has settled to update my OS. I know on the iPad side, there have been issues with a security patch update where some people with certain configurations who did that update before the 18 update, bricked their iPads, to the point that Apple had to shut down the upgrade for M4 iPads and they are trying to fix it. I haven’t read anything on the iPhone side where people are having issues with apps malfunctioning after the update. But if there was an interim patch you missed, could that cause your issue? Since the Beta that people have been using is basically the upgrade which was released, I am thinking there must have been a bug somewhere between Disney’s software and Apple’s, and Disney would have to fix it.

Looking forward to hearing your resolution before I update my 14PM . . .

I am having the same issue on my IPhone. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling but still having the issue. I have a 14+.

It has nothing to do with ios18, I haven’t upgraded yet and I was still getting that pop up in MDE after I updated the app. Force quitting the app and reopening a couple of times fixed it.

new update just came out
There were 2 Apple App store updates to MDE available for download this week . First 1 from the Apple App store on Wednesday, September 18th. Version was 8.2 and it must have needed an update to the update because 8.2.1 dropped yesterday, September 20th. The latest version is now 8.2.1

To check your MDE Version go the Main menu. Lower right Icon on all screens (3 Stacked Horizontal line). Scroll down the screen near the bottom and click Help and then scroll down to the bottom of the Help Screen to the About this App. Click About this App to see that Version you are currently using.

Looking forward to hearing your resolution before I update my 14PM . . .

MDE 8.2.1 works just fine on iOS 17.3.1 (latest update) and also on iOS 18 (GA). Disney posted the usual Version history update: We fixed bugs and improved overall app performance. Not very helpful.

Guests that have a new iPhone 16 (all models) that were delivered last week should check for updates and apply a small update that includes bug fixes and security updates. Yes it is still just iOS 18 since the new iPhone 16 models were not at the GA release of iOS.

ETA: Add comments about an iOS 18 update for new iPhone 16 models...

The Android version was updated on Friday, September 13th in the Google Play Store.

I just got the message I needed to update my app this evening. My phone updated to iOS 18 last night. I already have version 8.2.1 and on the App Store no more updates are available. As far as I can tell my app is working just fine after I cleared the update needed message. Hopefully it was just a 1 off
