I have a iphone 4 and by the middle of the day at the parks my phone is ready to die. I am looking for a phone charger that will extend the life of my phone for the day. I take alot of pictures and video and wanting to know what other people are using to extend the life of their iphone battery. I was looking at solar chargers and wanted to know if they are any good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is pretty inexpensive on amazon.com. I bought four of them, and gave two away and kept two. I take a lot of pics, and use my phone all day. I've never had to use more than one in a day.

I typically charge these up, just like the iphone, and then carry them. When my iphone4 goes to 13% I snap one of these on, and even while using it, the phone will charge to 80%. I believe that if I left the phone alone it would charge to 100%, but I've never done that. I have used these chargers at Disneyland, on bus trips to Arizona, plane flights to Spain, and they work great.

Just in case you weren't aware, Disneyland now offers small "charging lockers" that come complete with the iPhone charging cord. You can just rent the locker for an hour or so and leave your phone to charge while you eat lunch or go on a few rides.

Yep. Used one of those this weekend. :thumbsup2

It seems like they're covering all of the "free" outlets around the Parks. I even heard a CM tell a guest that they couldn't charge their phone on the outlet she was using because it was a fire hazard. This was on the side of the animation building almost to the back near ToT.

THIS.

I escort group travel trips, often to WDW, but also Chicago, NYC, pretty much anywhere. Our trips often involve an overnight bus trip, and even if they don't, I use my iPhone4 constantly, to call ahead to confirm activities, to use the maps, for internet searches, etc. etc., so I always have to charge at some point. I am good at spotting available outlets, but I also have a couple of the above chargers as backup.

As the PP says, they probably won't give a complete charge, especially if you continue to use your phone, but it will definitely extend your day. And they are very inexpensive, less than $5 each, so even if they don't last more than a year or so, they are worth it, at least to me. I had a mophie when I had an iPhone3, and while it worked great, I figured out that it's silly to pay $80 for something that will be obsolete with my next upgrade.

I tried a solar charger once, admittedly a cheap one, and it didn't work diddly squat. Maybe a more expensive one would work better, but I like my cheap little extra battery instead!

My best friend has something like the above pictured item. It charges from her computer or she has a wall charger for it, it simply plugs into her phone and charges it, she paid about $25 she said, maybe $20. I'm planning to get one before our July trip. lol

As a tip, to save battery life, turn the wifi off on your phone, and if you are not planning on doing any web browsing, you can turn your phone to airplane mode (disables the phone functionality and 3g/edge network connectivity) to save on battery life.

I can't comment on charging devices. But I was able to charge my phone (in early april 2012) in the outlet by the lockers located next to California Adventure.

another vote for the mophie juicepak! It is a case (protector) for your phone that is an external battery. You put the case on your phone, and it has an on/off switch. You can run on your phone's internal battery, and then when it gets low, you switch the case to "on" and it runs on the external battery (case). Then at night you can charge it up by leaving it in the "on" position, and it will charge your phone first, and then the external battery (and you can switch it back to "off" to run on your phone's internal battery again and save the case's battery until you need it again). Really does double (or even more) your battery time. I love it!
