iPhone 4 or 4S?

I just got an iPhone 4, but was thinking about switching to a 4S. I am mostly wondering if the pictures from a 4S come out significantly better than that of a regular iPhone 4. I know about the Siri (but don't care) and am not worried about the processor speed difference. I was hoping to be able to use the camera in place of the point and shoot I usually carry in my purse (but I only print at 4x6 size).

Please help! I have to decide by tomorrow or I can't exchange this one.

Thank you!

P.S. This is budget related because switching phones will cost me a $35 restocking fee on the one I have and an extra $100 if I decide to keep the same 32GB storage I have now.

If the camera is important to you, upgrade to the 4S. The shutter speed on the 4S is amazing. If you search the web, you can find some examples of the upgraded picture quality as well.

The extra $135 will work out to only $5.63 per month over the 2 years of your contract. Not having to carry another camera: priceless. -- Suzanne

I would definitely upgrade to the 4s. I upgraded from the iPhone 4 and I am impressed with everything about it, including the camera. It's fast, and better in low light. It does HD Video also.

Hope this helps.

I love the iphone 4 but i loved the 3 too. BF has the 4S and I 'm floored that Apple just keeps getting it better. IT IS AMAZING and beautiful.

I did decide to switch to the 4S instead. I ordered it, but Verizon won't have any black 4s phones until Nov. 11 :( The good news is I get to the keep the phone I have until then, so I will still have a phone until the other one comes.

I'm the lone man out here. LOL I would have suggested you keep what you already had. All the reviews I've read have said that if you already have the 4 just to stick with that.....all earlier models are worth upgrading. You could upgrade the operating system on the 4 and have nearly all the new fun tweaks.

I think when they wrote that they were thinking of people who would either have to pay full price for the new phone or those who would be using up their 2 year upgrade opportunity to go from 4 to 4S (so they wouldn't be eligible for upgrade when the 5 comes out).

The ones I saw once I started looking said to go for the 4S if it is an initial purchase.

Oh gotcha! I missed the part where this was your initial purchase! Yeah, I'd go with the 4S in that case. LOL

Go for the 4s and ask them to waive the restocking fee since you are getting something more expensive. It never hurts to ask.

It would be nice, but I know they won't be able to waive it. I got it at a corporate store and they won't be able to override the fee since the phone has been used and they can't sell it as new anymore. I guess refurbished ones have to come from somewhere....

However, at least I get to the keep the iphone 4 I already have. They originally wanted me to return the iPhone 4 now and then activate an old phone (I don't have an old data-capable phone) to use until the new one arrives. I would normall have to return it by tomorrow (14 days from original purchase), but now I get to return it 20 days from now so the other phone should arrive first :)
