Just wanted to share with the well wishers:

The iPad raffles sold out,in less than 3 days.:cool1:
Actually 440 tickets at $5 each were sold in less than 6 hrs, the hours available to purchase. A limited number of tickets were printed & sold, exactly enough to cover the amount needed to be raised. The ticket printing and all prizes donated.....so it was a grand success.
First prize was iPad, second prize was iTouch, 3rd & 4th were $50 iTune cards.

Everyone was happy and proud to participate. The local TV news is setting up a time to do a story "What is Right with our Schools" that focus is on the great things students do, a feature they do regularly as part of local news.

Thanks again for the posters that gave awesome input. :thumbsup2

(Please, if you don't agree with any of this, for any reason, like mama said "if you don't have anything nice to say.....well you know)[/

Would you mind PMing me the details of your fundraiser? I am looking for a fundraiser for my class and we were thinking of doing an Ipad raffle. I guess I was just wondering how many tickets you sold and how much profit you made. If you'd rather not say, then I completely understand!

Ohh, I'd love the information as well, if you could pm me, too. We'll be looking for a fundraiser for our Fifth Grade Committee.

Congratulations!
ec

I would also love the info in a PM. My Boy Scout Troop is looking to raise money to buy new tents. This might be the perfect plan.

Thanks,

Now that you mentioned it...

It wasn't that some of us never agree with giving someone needing a "helping hand" -- it's just given the information you shared with us in the last go-round the whole thing seemed...well...I guess I'll refrain from commenting on that...

For those first-timers/lurkers thinking "Well, I never!", if you look back at some of the previous history surrounding OP on DISBoards, I think many of us had a right to be a little bit suspicious/negative in this venture...

Of course, we will be monitoring OP's Local TV News,so we can catch the story for ourselves...

Thanks,

FYI, BSA prohibits "gambling" (under which they include raffles) for fundraisers.

One of our scouts got nailed by council after raffling pies to fund his Eagle project.

Thanks for the heads up. That is weird about your Eagle candidate. The Eagle Project packet has a section that must be filled out outlining where the funding will come from and that must be signed off by the Council. Somebody didn't pay attention somewhere.
